What You Can Expect

Behind-the-Scenes Tour at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo

Behind the Scenes Tour at WILD LIFE Sydney

After making your own way to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in Darling Harbour, meet your guide for your tour, which starts in the morning when many animals are more active. Your guide escorts you into the private areas of the zoo that are normally off-limits to visitors, providing your small group with a greater understanding of animal care and zoo operations.

As you stroll through the zoo with your guide, learn about the daily tasks on a zookeeper’s job description and see where they prepare meals for the large variety of native Australian animals that live at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. You may get to meet birds such as the red-tailed black cockatoo, snap a photo while holding a koala, pet a snake or lizard, and give a spider a snack. You also get to check out the back rooms where reptiles and butterflies reside when not on exhibit.

Your tour includes admission to the zoo, so that you can explore the rest of the exhibits at your leisure at the end of your behind-the-scenes tour. A number of talks are offered throughout the day, bringing you even closer to the lives of the koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian Devils, saltwater crocodiles and other residents of the zoo.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended June 2016

Ended up just being my wife and myself, wonderful day. Koalas are amazingly cute.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this February 2017

What a waste no end of problems. Told to be there early why no one knew what to do waited 1 hour for tour guide no specials opportunity to interact with animals. Tour lasted 1 hour took 2 hours for them to arrange for us to get pictures taken with koala bear This tour was poorly run and totally disorganized. Everything was a discussion and argument the brochure said a lot and we did very little. Mostly stand around and wait for them to argue about what we were suppose to do. Would not recommend it waste of money and time
