Jim, our chef, tour guide, driver, and all was fantastic. He is passionate about his work and very personable. He shares historical information as we went along. We had such a variety of experiences starting at the Perth fishmarkets. His food was wonderful and perfect for wine paring. You can tell the wineries really like him and they gave us the VIP treatment, with Mount View Winery serving us any wines on their list. It is great value for the cost. I would do this tour again. Thanks Jim for such a great time!! Bonnie for California
We had a wonderful day with Jimmy, despite the rain. He even made the journey to the Hunter Valley interesting and informative with his running commentary from the driver's seat. He catered very well for my food intolerance and did not make me feel left out at all, which is often the case with these kinds of things. I cannot recommend this trip enough. It is well worth the money.
enjoyed the visit to the fish market and the lunch in the park with the different types of
birds. chef was very friendly and personable.
There is a reason this tour is 5-Star across the board - his name is Jimmy and he is a chef and tour guide extraordinaire! I share the sentiment with other posters that this was THE HIGHLIGHT of our Australia visit. It is worth every dollar - as the value to dollar spent is exceptionally high!
It is a small group tour - there were eight of us which allowed for significant interaction with the chef and tour participants. We began the day at the Sydney Fish Market for a tour and to pick up fresh fish for the day's menu. Behind the scenes is fascinating!
Jimmy coordinates with boutique wineries in the Hunter Valley who let him cook and serve gourmet items with their wine that he prepares from a retrofitted kitchen in the back of his tour van. We first had breakfast with pancakes, flat bread breakfast sandwiches, and fruit made and prepared on an outdoor griddle/grill at a park on the Flukesberry River, which was half way between Sydney and the Hunter Valley beautifully timed stop to eat and stretch our legs. It was delightful! With our wine pairings throughout the day, Chef Jimmy also served sushi, antipasto with chorizo, asparagus and field mushrooms, steamed barramundi, kangaroo sliders, and Wattleseed crème brulee. Perfecto!
You will not go hungry on this tour!
We visited three wineries: Mount View Estate, Savannah Estate, and Saddler's Creek. I understand that Jimmy rotates between 6 to 8 wineries to optimize the experience. The interaction with the winemakers and staff was excellent we ended up with six bottles of wine that we purchased from our visits. It was not uncommon to have generous pours of 3 to 4 whites and 3 to 4 reds at each winery - so you are exposed to a wide variety of wines.
We took seven tours during our visit to Australia. This one stands out over all of the others! Jimmy has a unique offering in this tour that no others have - I highly recommend Jimmy and his gourmet wine tour of the Hunter Valley.
Fabulous! Chef Jimmy does a great job. He loves what he does and it shows.
The day was great and well worth it!
Jimmy was fantastic! He was so friendly, warm and welcoming, and made the group totally comfortable with one another right away! It was a long trip, and Jimmy kept int lively with great commentary and stories as well! Food was great, wine was amazing, and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Sydney! Highly recommended!
Outstanding! It was so much fun, Chef Jimmy is entertaining, creative and an excellent chef! We were very impressed with his ability to pick sites, serve food from the back of his van, and the wineries that he chose. Two thumbs up!
I traveled alone for the Sydney trip and i joined this day tour. Jimmy is a really nice guys, he brought us to fish market. The schedule and arrangement of the trip is very great! Because of the small group tour, Jimmy can take care of us very well. The most important thing is his cooking, all the food are very delicious even the breakfast!!! After join this tour, you will definitely it is worth to pay.
We can not recommend this tour high enough. Jimmy was an excellent tour guide as well as a chef. Day starts at the fish market, later is a stop by the Hawkesberry River for a breakfast that he prepares. There are 3 visits to wineries, each with food that is prepared by Jimmy, and a sushi class as well. What a delightful way to get out of the city, enjoy some scenery, some delicious food, and of course some wonderful wines in the Hunter Valley.
A not to be missed tour! Fantastic! We had a great tour with Jimmy who was a fabulous host/ chef/ guide / driver! We were picked up on time and enjoyed the early morning visit to the fish market, followed by a delicious freshly cooked 'picnic' breakfast at the Hawksbury River - then a drive through beautiful the countryside to the Hunter Valley for the food and wine wine tasting experience at three boutique wineries. This unique tour was exception and more than fulfilled our expectations.

What a great adventure! The food was delicious, Chrf Jimmie both a top notch tour guide and chef, and the tour size just perfect. Had a great time seeing spots we might not have, both in and out of Sydney, and we learned so much as well. Highly recommend this tour.
Great trip with an amazing start in the Sydney Fish Market. The selected wineries and dishes matched very well. Jimmy was a consummate host with local tips to start our Sydney tour right.
Jimmy Hunter is a terrific guy and takes care of each and every guest. He is a one all around multi tasking guy who cooks very well, knows the geography and a good driver to boot! We enjoyed the food trip and wine tasting plus the terrific view and weather. Its a five star recommendation, don't miss it!
The tour was unlike any wine tour I've been on -- in the most AMAZING way! Jimmy is personable and made the journey fun and DELICIOUS. Did I mention the food parings were delicious? I think it is worth stating again! We were the envy of everyone all around at the wineries because the paired small plates smelled so good and tasted even better.
There was such a good diversity of activities planned as part of the itinerary, and the stops were appropriately spaced. I absolutely recommend this as the best wine and food tour I've been on, and that includes excursions in California.
