Best tour on our Australia trip so far.
We really enjoyed the combination of food and wine. Jimmy was very knowledgeable about history, geography and wine.
The Hunter Valley was very picturesque and the vineyards we visited were a bit different from the large chains we have visited in the past.
I would definitely recommend.

This was an amazing day, led by Chef/Owner Jimmy. He amused, entertained, taught and in all led a very satisfying day of food and wine in the Hunter Valley. We were a group of 12 enthusiastic travellers. Jimmy introduced us to various food techniques made with love from the back of his van/kitchen and pairings with appropriate wines. A highlight was a trip to the Sydney Fish Market. Hook up with Jimmy and you won't be disppointed.

Probably the best value and most enjoyable wine tour I have ever done. My husband is not particularly fond of Australian wine or interested cooking but he is still raving about this trip too. We did this trip on Wednesday and Jimmy our driver/chef and all round genie was a fabulous host, there was a small group of six of us spanning from only 20s to late 60s and we all had a great time. Jimmy took us to the fish market then stopped off enroute to cook us a fabulous breakfast overlooking a beautiful bay on the way up to the Hunter Valley. We stopped and sampled Fayre at a local deli and then went to three boutique winerys where we learnt about the wines and tasted their wares. Ever so often Jimmy would pop up with the latest gourmet treat that he had somehow managed to prepare in the middle of no where. The food, company and quality of the wines was faultless. Would I recommend this trip absolutely 3 family members have alread6 asked for details and when I am in Sydney next time, I would do the same trip again.

Jimmy if you read this review, tell your mum she was right - brilliant idea to combine a trip that is tailored to people who appreciate good food and wine in the same package. Dont change anything, the schedule and content of the trip is absolutely perfect. An absolute highlight of our first visit to Australia and certainly not our last. Regards Annie

its well worth getting up for the early start to this tour. Jimmie is guide - driver and chef all rolled into one - and he makes this a fabulous day out. Its small groups only - so its also fun. The visit to the fish market is great and Jimmie buys provisions for later. Onto a spot called Brooklyn on the Hawksbury River - so pretty! we are dropped off to do a short walk round a headland and arrive to find a table laid in a picnic area and the bbq going. Lovely breakfast of warm cheese and ham croissants -warm flatbreads with grilled mushrooms- cheese and rocket - pancakes- fresh fruit and fruit juice. After breakfast - jimmies icebreaker - we all learn how to make a sushi roll amid lots of laughing - these are put on ice for later in the day!! We stop for an olive oil tasting which was fun. We go to 3 lovely vineyards for tastings and much wine is bought! at the second vineyard we are served up in tapas style- cheese and biscuits and olives - asparagus with truffle oil and parmesan - chorizo - and a stuffed mushroom all cooked on a portable bbq that Jimmie carries with him! at our final stop we have our sushi - scallop with creamed mushroom - kangaroo sliders and a wattle seed creme brulee!! All 3 vineyards were great - but Jimmies food made the day and the wine! This was the best wine trip I have ever been on. Jimmie was a great guide and full of interesting information - the three smaller wine houses and their locations were amazing - and the food was superb!! this tour is a must!

This was a great tour - Jimmy is not only a great chef but was able to tell us much about Australia as we drove along. The wineries were generous with their samples - good wines! The people on the tour with me were from various countries and I enjoyed meeting them. This tour was the highlight of my time - loved going to the fish market, our picnic breakfast along the Hawkesbury, our tastings with food to match. I would do this tour again. Connie from Canada

The best wine tour ever...pick up at the hotel exactly on time. Tour of the Sydney Fish Market with interesting insights by Jimmy our tour guide and fantastic chef. A beautiful day and a lovely drive through the Hunter Valley. First stop was by a lake and while we strolled thru the woods along the shore Jimmy was cooking a gourmet feast beautifully laid out---fresh fruit and juice, pancakes and --wow--flat bread grilled with spinach, mushrooms and cheese He then taught us to fill and roll our own sushi that included Morton Bay bugs--like a sweet crab. On thru the Valley to first wine stop--small winery with a great host and interesting wines. Off again to the second winery where we tried several very good wines paired with antipasto and stuffed giant mushrooms...At the final winery we were served the sushi we made earlier paired with 3 wines to see how each tasted with the sushi, then a beyond fantastic scallop dish followed by kangaroo sliders. Each paired with 3 different wines. Finished with crème brulee and desert wines.
All the seafood was gotten at the morning stop at the fish market with us that morning and prepared by Jimmy as we toured.
This was the most innovative not to mention delicious wine tour we have ever been on. Jimmy is a fantastic chef and tour guide. Next time we are in the Sydney area we will go again. If you have the opportunity don't miss this tour.

I've been to the Hunter Valley 3x (on various tours), and Jimmy's tour is definitely the best of the lot. The Hawkesbury River experience was unique. The food was full of flavor and the wine pairings give you an idea which works best. Even non-wine drinkers (like my mom) will thoroughly enjoy this tour!

This was a great day out, from the tour of the fish market, the drive up to the Hunter Valley and the carefully selected boutique Wineries, Jimmy's tour is relaxed, fun and informative. Breakfast by the river, sushi rolling, and the food and wine pairing added a special touch!

This tour certainly deserves its 5 Stars. Jimmy is a great host and has planned out the day to maximise the food and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the day, visiting 3 vineyards and eating breakfast on the escarpment. Even in the rain is was an experience rolling our sushi for later.
If you want a day out tasting over 25 wines and eating gourmet food then this trip is for you. Jimmy owns the company works his Aussie socks off to provide a great day :

This was a fantastic day from start to finish. Well organized, good value, lots of fun, outstanding service and absolutely top notch food experience to accompany the winery visits and tastings. Jimmy picked me up from my hotel in a spacious, comfortable mini-bus. There was a total of 12 of us and off we went to the Sydney Fish Market where he shared with us his 'favorites' and gave us plenty of time to wander, take some pics, and sample if we wanted to. Then about a 50 minute drive before we stopped at a picturesque site on a island where we feasted on flatbreads with mushroom, cheese and spinach, pancakes and cream, banana bread and fresh fruit. After we had more than enough to fill our bellies, we all learned to make our own sushi, working with fresh fish Jimmy had picked up earlier with us. Then off the Hunter Valley we went. We stopped at three wineries, a local one in a charming little town, and two larger ones. At the second stop, we wet our appetite with some little bites, eating al fresco and sampling fresh figs and Spanish ham, cheese, asparagus and grated parmagian cheese and chorizo while tasting some great reds, whites and even a sweet after-dinner liquor Mount View Estate Liqueur Verdelho, yummy!. Finally, at the third stop, we ate a full meal, including scallop risotto, kangaroo sliders, and amazing creme brulee with a local nut. The winemaker couldn't have been nicer, generously keeping our glasses full and providing tastings of a variety of semillons, chardonays and shiraz wines. What a day, I was back at my hotel by 6:30pm in time for my dinner reservation, but who could eat much after the day!

This was the most Fantastic Tour I have ever taken. Jim gave us a wine and food day to remember, we will not want to go wine tasting without a Chef again. Jim was informative and provided us with delicious food paired with wine at each winery. The day started with a trip to fish market to get fresh caught fish for the day. We saw towns, country side and 3 Great wineries.

This was the last thing we did before leaving for home US and it was GREAT!
