Follow your knowledgeable guide on a walking tour that explores Kings Cross, a neighborhood that is considered Australia’s red light capital. Your two-hour walk on the wild side highlights the district’s colorful and sometimes violent history. What began as a glamorous address in the early 1800s transformed into a hardscrabble district rife with prostitution, organized crime, sly-grog shops (illegal alcohol distributors), gangster romances and riots in the 1920s and 1930s. Glimpse into a lesser-known side of Sydney’s on this safe stroll through the past and present of Kings Cross.
  • 2 Hour guided walk of the colorful and iconic Kings Cross
  • Explore the streets of the red light capital of Australia
  • Be dazzled by stories of mysterious disappearances and funny mishaps that have taken place
  • Friendly and informative guide
Make your own way to the heart of Kings Cross where you meet your guide in the early evening. Learn about the district’s unsolved mysteries and infamous crimes as your guide shows you a number of places that feature in the neighborhood’s tumultuous history.
In the early part of the 19th century, elegant mansions were built in the district and it was known as a prestigious locale with great views of Sydney Harbour and the Blue Mountains. By the 1920s and 1930s, the area had turned into an epicenter for violence and vice. Your guide shares stories about the gangs and gang leaders, including several powerful and notorious women, who dominated the neighborhood in that era, which lasted until World War Two.
Long considered a place for artists and alternative lifestyles, this bohemian district continues to evolve in modern times. Hear all about it from your guide as you take in the neighborhood on foot, then retire to a vibrant local bar where you continue to learn about the neighborhood.
Your guide ensures a safe walk around Kings Cross and an engaging look at the past and present of one of Sydney’s most lively districts.

The absolute best tour we took on our trip to Australia. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the walking tour great! We were a small group of 6, perfect for direct conversations and questions to be asked and answered.

We enjoyed a fascinating evening with our guide Phil. He was so knowledgeable and made the experience very worthwhile. Thanks Phil for a great night. Would highly recommend this tour. Very easy to catch the train to Kings Cross station then a brief walk to the Coco Cola sign.

Was a very informative tour. Pity it was so wet and cold which made it harder to see all the sights. Plus we found out later it's better to go on later in the week or on the weekend - see a bit more of the 'nightlife'.
Was a good tour all the same - learnt lots about the 'Cross'.

This tour is awesome, I had a blast in walking through the streets and back alleys of Kings Cross, it gave me a more in-depth history and knowledge on the events that shaped it the way it is today.

I booked it. Personally spoke with the guide named Francis

He did not show up! Or even call me.
Wasted over 2 hours waiting on this clown.

Save your nerves, time and money and DO NOT TAKE A TOUR WITH THIS GUY.

You will be sorry.
