Make your own way from your cruise ship to the meeting point for your walking tour, which is located just a few minutes walk from the cruise ship terminal at Circular Quay. Your guide welcomes you to the place where Sydney began, the Rocks district, where the British colony was founded in the late 1700s.
Your walking tour includes the historic route of the Tank Stream, which provided fresh water to the original Aboriginal residents of the region and later the British colonialists. You’ll also see the Conservatorium of Music, a handsome castle-like structure that contains 18th-century architectural artifacts, then pass by the Mint, which was originally a convict hospital and is currently central Sydney’s oldest public building.
