The Tour was excellent.. Not only was it a great introduction to the history of the first settlers but it took us to delightful and interesting places we may not have discovered. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the rum and beer were very tasty!
Our guide made learning about history very interesting. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the beginning of Sydney.

Fabulous tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. He did everything to make our experience the best it could be.
Very interesting tour as it roams around the narrow streets and alley ways of The Rocks whilst learning the history and significant events that shaped it into the iconic place that it is today.
Great tour! We learned a lot about the history of Sydney and Australia which gave us a good perspective for the rest of our time in Sydney and the country. Our tour guide, Louise, was excellent! She was prepared, knowledgeable, funny, and very attentive. The food and drink stops were well planned and high quality.
The Rocks history was very interesting and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The pub we stopped at for dinner was where the locals go and the food was excellent. The beer selections our guide recommended were perfect. My husband and I were the only one on this 3 hour tour and so glad that it was not cancelled!!
This walking tour is most educational as it tackled the history of Australia and our tour guide Tony Hutchinson is entertaining and thorough with his historical accounts as he traversed us to the streets and thoroughfare of the Rocks. We have a great time...worth every penny. Thank you.
fun evening with lots of history thrown in to explain this important part of Sydney's past.
Really, really great! Interesting - and interested/engaged guide, who thoroughly enjoyed sharing the information she had about the area - increasing our knowledge and interest, as well. She was very good about learning what interested those of us on the tour and finding ways of making her information even more relevant for each of us - WELL DONE! and very well worth the experience! Highly recommended.
Our guide Kirsty was so lovely and answered all our questions too. We had dinner at Phillips Foote and it was fantastic, staff very friendly and food awesome too.
Great way to spend the evening! The Rocks is a very interesting and fun part of Sydney.
Very kind and knowledgeable tour guide. Well-paced and nicely narrated. Would definitely recommend.
We really liked this walking tour. A very nice introduction to the history of Sydney. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The wine tasting was rather limited - it wasn't a 'described wine' tasting, but rather a $7.50 credit which worked on an automated set up -- enough for two small tastings out of a large variety of wines with no description of the wines or the wineries.
The BBQ on the other hand was excellent. One choose the type of meat and then cooked it yourself on a large grill. My wife and I had lamb, others had beef or even fish or skewers.
All in all, good value for money here.
Note from Viator: This review is based on a previous itinerary. The current itinerary includes a gourmet burger with matched craft beer in place of the BBQ dinner.
This was a great walking tour and Michelle was a great host! There was only 4 people in our group so it was really personal!
Great tour of The Rocks...Louise was fantastic! Only suggestion is one more pub stop as part of the tour, preferably before dinner.
Really good especially if you're into history. Great way to meet other travelers.
This was great value for this walk, meal and wine tasting. Guide knew her history and made the afternoon loads of fun.
It was a great tour were you learn about the history of alcool trought the history of Australia. It's also cool that you have the possibility to choose the wine that you want to choose and you have a lot of choice and the possibility to add tasting taste fees ablies but still...! And be sure that you have good shoes because you walk trought the Rocks for a wile. But, enjoy! :
We were lucky, exclusive tour, just the two of us. Our guide Madeline was very informative and friendly. Recommend as a background to the area and getting a bit of an insight on the local architecture and Australian history.
Only my husband and I were in this "group" tour so it was really one-on-one information. We learned quite a lot about the history of Sydney and Australia. Unfortunately, the place we had dinner was very, very noisy and we could not really talk to each other or the guide; however, the guide admitted they needed to pick a different place in the future.
This was a very pleasant way to spend an evening away from the 40 other people I was travelling with. In fact I had 3 guides all to myself. The two Stuarts from Perth and Madeline from the tour company in Sydney. Between them I learned all about the First Fleet, the Rum Corp and many fascinating tales of triumph over adversity by those early settlers. In between paragraphs, I was introduced to a genial little wine tasting bar, a famous pub and a novel restaurant where you cook your own meat. Strolling around in the early evening warmth was a real treat away from the necessary airconditioned atmosphere of those big hotels. Well worth doing.
The tour guide was good, very informative. However the tour was advertised as a 4 hour tour it actually only went for approximately 2.5 hours.
New guide that was just learning. She tried hard but lacked experience.
