Based on the website description I was looking forward to this tour as part of a week-long visit to Sicily. And it did not disappoint! Our guide, Valeria, was a true local.....saying hello to police and neighborhood store owners along the way. She took us through several streets and alleys, pointing out the interesting historical significance of buildings and areas she has a background in architecture too. The food/wine stops were interesting in that they provided a sampling of things we probably wouldn't have experienced on our own. Just enough food, wine, walking and talking.....an enjoyable way to spend a relaxing evening in Ortigia.

This was the highlight of my holiday! My husband and I booked this trip a long time in advance as we were excited to try the local food and wine when we arrived in Siracusa - and it did not disappoint. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun - creating a great atmosphere amongst the group and making us feel very welcome. We had lovely fish and white wine at the first venue, followed by a huge amount of cheese/meats with red wine at the second. Our final stop was at a little cafe for dessert and sweet wines. Between each stop, our guide showed us the wonderful sites of Ortigia and this encouraged us to come back to the island another 3 times during our trip - as it is so spectacular. We could not recommend an activity more!

We really enjoyed the Siracusa Food and Wine Walking Tour. Our guide, Elisa I believe that was her name was very nice and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. We were able to try different seafood dishes which were my personal favorite, different cured meats and cheeses, Arancinis fried, stuffed rice balls and a variety of Sicilian desserts including the classic Ricotta Cannoli. We were also able to enjoy different wines and liqueurs, which were also delicious! We also did a Food and Wine Walking Tour in Taormina, which we really enjoyed. Overall, this type of tour is not only tasty, but a great way to experience the culture from a local's perspective via your guide as well as a great way to meet other tourists and enjoy a social evening out and about.

This tour was a lot fun and offered a surprising amount of food and drink. Based just on that, I would recommend this tour but given how informative, passionate, and charming our guide Elisa was, then I say you need to do this. We spent a few pleasant hours winding through the streets of Ortigia. Book this early in your stay as Elisa points out not only historic and tourist attractions but also restaurants and bars you might want to try.

The first stop was full of fish - delicious octopus and mussels and a variety of lightly fried options, shrimp and sardines, as well as some very tasty wines. Afterward, there is a bit more a winding tour and then a second stops for meats, cheeses, arancini and delicious red wines. Our tour ended near the Temple of Apollo, again this portion full of historical context, before concluding for dessert and drinks at a little cafe. There was a sublime almond wine and delicious limoncello in addition to sweets such as cannoli.

This was an outstanding evening and I highly recommend to anyone. The food was very good, the drinks plentiful, and Elisa was a lovely guide.

We enjoyed our tour in Ortigia a lot. Valeria, the guide, was great and very very knowledgeable! She was flexible as well and despite was not our first time in Ortigia we learnt a lot about the local history and culture. The tour is not too short neither too long, perfect for families!

Valeria DiMauro is a 5-star gem. What a lovely stroll we had through Ortigia, thanks to her generous heart, seeing the streets, vistas, architecture through her eyes.... savoring the food and wine was an extra bonus. We are moved to return to Siracusa thanks to Valeria great charm.
