An amazing tour in all respects. Only 6 on the tour so we got a really personalised experience from a great tour guide who really knew his stuff and also had a great sense of humour. There was a wonderful variety of stops as well, and we even accidentally gatecrashed an Estonian folk music festival when we went to the village for lunch and the festival was being held there. I particularly loved the Soviet submarine facility and the bog walk, which was just beautiful and a fairly unique ecosystem. THe lunch was amazing and definitely worth the extra price, a real sense of Estonian hospitality.
If you are visiting Tallinn I would say without hesitation that you should do this tour, to get a sense of Estonia's countryside and history as well. I was particularly interested to hear about how Estonia used to be at the forefront of the world's shipping industry, training so many naval captains that they had private members clubs specially for them in places like Singapore. However, this was curbed by the USSR who needed to control the coastline.
This is a really varied, interesting tour - starting off at a waterfall, next viewing an old manor, walking along a disused submarine base, a maritime museum, the grounds of another manor, finishing off with a bog walk. It was a fun and engaging day, and our tour guide was informative and really added to the experience. We loved the chance to get out of Tallinn and explore the national park, and the group size was perfect. Our guide gave us some great tips to help us get the most out of the rest of our time in Tallinn. Saw another reviewer say there was no water available - not the case for us, as ours was available on request.
A very broad-based informative tour finishing with a walk through the bog actually saw a Moor Frog which not many do - at the other end of the aesthetic scale was an old Soviet submarine degaussing complex - one original ungraffitied Soviet artwork left - fascinating stuff. The guide, Kris of Tallinn Traveller local supplier of the service, was excellent and well informed - also a dry sense of humour - ...so you will be making your own way out of the bog at the junction take the 17th exit out of 29, starting from the South West....
Really enjoyed this tour. Wasn and #39;t possible to visit Lahemaa on public transport so I booked this guided tour. Visited various different sites, which I and #39;d never have been able to do on my own, all of which were beautiful. Lunch (optional, extra E13) was delicious. Guide Kert was friendly and knowledgeabl
Awesome day trip out of Tallinn, Lahemaa is full of great sites and soviet secrets. Our guide, Katlinn was such a down-to-earth and fantastic guide! Highly recommend
Great tour!! Our guide Kert was friendly and informative. Good value for money, lots to see and do.
Our guide was Martin who was an amazing tour guide! Small tour size only 3 of us in the off-season, so there was lots of interaction. The bog was absolutely stunning and the other sites were equally interesting. I highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Tallinn.
Amazing trip! Catherine is a great guide, it's impressive how much she knows about her country's history and basically everything! We bombed her the whole day with thousands of questions about everything and nothing and she always answered with a smile!
Places seen were beautiful!
Kert, our guide, was very mindful of maximising the daylight hours and had clearly put a lot of thought into where we were going to go and where. All the stops were interesting and varied, and the lunch was excellent.
We took this Lahemaa National Park tour with Tallinn Traveler Tours and enjoyed the day. Our tour guide Martin was very easy to understand and was very knowledgeable. Love the small size of the tour in a comfortable mini van with much interaction. There were some interesting surprises throughout the day that gave you a chance to stretch your legs. The contrast of an unrestored manor to that of a stored manor was very interesting to see. We also visited a waterfall, a submarine base, a fishing village and had a nice walk through a bog.. it would have been nice to have water available as advertised from viator where we booked the tour. Great day.
