Terrible!
Mark_D, Jul 2022
I paid $40.00 for two tickets and couldn’t locate any of the hop on, hop off locations because there were no signs! Location one is Terminal D, no signs. Location 4, no signs.

Great service and best way to see ALL of this city. Tallinn is a beautiful city and whilst the old town area is walkable, most of the paving is cobblestone so may prove difficult for some. For cruise passengers, it does pick up earlier than the normal timetable but most places don’t open until 10am. Make a good note of where you get off as not all stops are signed.

Don’t do it if you want English! Did not pick up inside terminal even though it said it did before noon. Get the other hop on. Tallin is very nice

Not a good value
Tom M, Sep 2019
Bus was no where near where the voucher said it would be. We only stumbled upon it a quarter mile away after we gave up and started walking. Ended up walking back to the cruise terminal because the remaining stops are incredibly inconvenient. Walk. It’s a short distance to old town.

Probably one of the best hop on bus we have used. Staff helpful commentary clear. Tallinn compact lovely architecture, bus hit all the right places to seeon a shore excursion
Worth it
Regina O, Jun 2019
Very easy to navigate and get on and off to sightsee. Commentary is provided so we thought it was worth it instead of paying and arm and leg to do a shore excursion with the cruise. Old town is a must see, everything else not so much.

Anushree_S, Aug 2018
The location of City sightseeing HOHO buses are great and the staff was courteous. We took the first bus from terminal after ship's arrival and straight went to the Upper Old Town. After absorbing the sights of the town from upper old town, we simply walked down to lower town. All the attractions in Tallinn are very near to each other and can be simply done by walking. Basically, we used HOHO bus only once to reach the Upper Old Town. One can walk back to the cruise port from the city.
Great way to travel city on rainy day
Dave S, Jul 2018
The people working for the company were very friendly and helpful. Rode on all three routes, you need to check schedule to see when each route starts running. The seaplane museum had road construction on the way there so never got close. Get picked up just outside cruise ship terminal.
Noisy, rickety bus
Roger L, Jul 2018
Engine noise on first floor; canopy flapping against frame noise on second floor. Tour did not take us near interesting places to get off -- we spent many minutes traveling through a forest, which looked much like other forests. Driver was unhelpful in directing us to a better option.

Tallinn really is the perfect cruise...
leonard_g, Jun 2018
Tallinn really is the perfect cruise ship stop. It is small enough to walk around and see everything significant in 5 to 6 hours and have a meal and a drink. This review however about the hop-on, hop-off excursion. The Viator version was provided by city site seeing which was a relief after our woeful experience in Copenhagen with the Red Buses version see Review. In Tallinn the CITY SIGHSEEING trip was very good. The bus picks up just a few dozen yards from the ship. Th staff were polite and helpful when we boarded and gave us the headphones and map without asking. The commentary was very good indeed. It quickly and succinctly gave a history and context to Tallinn from its founding and pointed out and explained sights along the way. The trip is relatively short and we decided to get off at Toompea Castle which is a main landmark. Tallinn although small consists of a UNESCO medieval town. The lower town with old buildings, a market and restaurants and medieval pubs is in the lower town while the upper town although physically close is up a quite steep cobbled series of streets and has fortifications and chruches/cathedrals not to be missed. By getting off at Toompea castle the highest point the rest of the town can be enjoyed without needing to climb any hills! We then hit all the significant landmarks and had some snacks and drinks in the Golden Pig tavern and the Olde Hansa Medieval tavern see separate 5 reviews. We then picked up the bus aye the bottom of the hill easily and were able to get back to the ship with time in hand. Overall good value and a useful tool if your time is tight on a cruise day visit. I would give it 5 stars but felt it could have been about 5 euros cheaper as it is a short journey compared to this company's other excursions in other cities for the same price.

The Hop-On bus was good, but most of our time was spent after getting off at the old city. We did not re-board.

Vicki_D, Sep 2017
We were in Tallinn on a Sunday, most businesses were closed. The hop on hop off was perfect we saw the major attractions from the bus and got of at the walled city - it was great - beautiful churches, several gift shops were open and the best lunch ever at a small restaurant.

Grace_C, Sep 2017
Compared to the other HOHO this one really didn't meet our expectations. There were only few buses and the waiting time is too long so we were not really able to cover more places.

Frenie_S, Sep 2017
The bus was waiting by the port and we did the whole route to start. Then we got off the Toompea castle and walked to Alexander Nevsky cathedral. Walked down the cobbled stone road to the Town Square where there are restaurants and stores all around. A bit pricey but when you need a washroom a little snack or refreshment will get you there. I've read about St Catherine's passage and we set out to find it which was just a short walk away. I'm glad we did.

Not much to see in Tallinn outside of Old Town. I'd skip this tour.
Not much to see and the bus sat too...
Diane D, Aug 2017
Not much to see and the bus sat too long at the cruise ships waiting for people to board. Have done many Hop-On-Hop-Off tours but this was by far the worst. Spend your time in the Old Town.

If you have a short time in Tallinn...
casatahoe, Jun 2017
If you have a short time in Tallinn, I would skip the hop on/hop off. It only goes around the outside of the city and we got off after going 3 quarters of the way around. There was not really much to see, the commentary was minimal, and we ended up sitting at a lot of traffic lights waiting for the bus to move. Your time is better spent wandering in the very touristy and souvenir packed inner city.
This price was right on this tour...
Donna, Jun 2017
This price was right on this tour. But I would have liked more stops. The three different routes were not easily overlapping. But with only a few hours to spend, I was able to see some of the sights in Old Town and drive through outlying areas. There is an automated commentary available to plug in and listen as you travel. Several different languages. I noticed this did not work at every seat, so feel free to change seats to find a device that works.

blubberwon, May 2017
Excellent way to see Tallinn, easy to hop-on and off the bus to catch the sights of your interest, or just stay on the bus to get a quick overview of this ancient town. Many buses so you do not have to wait too long for the next bus.

Hop- On, Hop- Off is a great way to see the ports. When touring the old city, try to start at the top and work your way down. Check out the flower market too......

Enjoyed the hop-on-hop-off bus. We did not have enough time in port to take the bus around again to determine where we wanted to get off on a 2nd tour but we did manage to get off to view a beautiful church on the 1st tour. Wished we could have gotten off at other stops once we completed the 1st tour but not enough time. Recommend that buses come more often. we had to wait over an hour and a half between buses.

This was a very difficult tour...
Ernest_L, Sep 2016
This was a very difficult tour, especially since my wife cannot walk very far. We were picked up near our cruise ship, and everything went downhill from there. We got into town and were told we needed to change buses because our driver was going on break. The new driver spoke not a word of English and was unable to answer the simplest questions or give any clear directions. As a result we were dropped off about a mile from the ship, in a construction zone surrounded by dirt, dust, heavy equipment, and numerous large trucks, all because we could not read the signs and were not told we needed to get off in a different location than where we boarded the bus. The port itself is undergoing massive reconstruction, so it is not pretty and for us was extremely difficult to walk through to get back to our ship. I do not recommend this tour unless you speak and/or can read Estonian, as we found very little information in English.
