I have been on other food tours through Viator so I have something to compare against. This tour had so many problems I don't know where to start. 1 The scheduled start time at booking was 12:30PM. I received a text the morning of the tour indicating the tour was going to start at 2:30PM. No reason given, the weather was fine. I truly believe since we were the only 2 people on this tour for that day the start time was changed to get us to cancel. The food portion consisted of 1st stop - 2 chicken wings, 2nd stop - one slice of cheese pizza, 3rd stop - very tiny Cuban sandwich, 4th stop - beans and rice. We did not get to the 5th stop because we had started so late the restaurant WAS CLOSED for the day so we were handed a bag with desert in it. You can do way better by stopping at the Ybor history center, watching the film like we did on the tour it's free walk to the points of interest and then have a nice meal for about half the price charged for the tour. I rarely complain but this tour is a rip off. Totally dissatisfied!
Ybor City was unexpectedly enjoyable and is in the early phases of a Renaissance. It's rich history is being promoted as well as its fine ethnic food choices - and cigars. After hearing about some issues with potential night life troubles and/or other tourist turn offs, my sister and I weren't sure what to expect. I'm happy to say we never once felt uneasy. The local businesses are successfully cleaning up the City's tarnished image. Our tour guide, Pat Simon, was great. Friendly, full of facts, and a world traveler with lots of stories. I would say that it is of particular interest if you are of Cuban, Spanish, German or Italian heritage as Ybor City wouldn't be the amazing place it is if it weren't for your ancestor's efforts and triumphs. The food was great. We even managed to set foot on Cuban soil on this trip.... you have to go to Ybor City to do that.
Loved the food! Don't eat before you go sounds obvious, but been told on multiple food tours that people do that and can't finish anything on the tour Took down all the restaurants to re-visit in the future.
alles wunderbar - prima. Ich hatte jedoch als Sprache Deutsch gewählt ist ja einfacher und dies wurde ohne nähere Info geändert!? Aber unser Guide war trotzdem super und konnte uns viel interessantes Berichten und das Essen war super lecker!
