The trek around the upper volcano area was truly stunning and much better than we expected, a delight for seasoned travellers. Our alpine guide for the trek was unobtrusive, informative, relaxed and added to our experience.
Excellent tour. Don't normally take organised tours on holiday, but this seemed a good way to manage a trip to Etna without own car. Very well organised with the opportunity to spend some time on your own. Excellent guide provided just the right amount of information. Would recommend taking the full tour including cable car and jeep ride. Make sure you take a warm jacket.
Oh my gosh! What an adventure. We really enjoyed our Mount Etna trip. It was a pity the cable car wasn't operating on the day of our visit due to winds, but we enjoyed so much nevertheless. The views from the mountain, the excitement of walking through the black ash/rock. When we reached 9,000 feet, it was so windy and cold and we couldn't see too far in front of us, however we had an excellent quide whose information on the volcano was brilliant. Felt so refreshed and energised after our day. Marco, our guide throughout was a mine of information and Enzo, our driver, was very experienced and a very safe driver.
Amazing views. Remember to cover up it was very windy when we went.
Loved this trip. Pleased that we opted to go to the highest level. I think we would have been disappointed if we'd stopped at the base level and certainly glad that we did the last stretch by cable car and jeep and didn't opt to walk up. Both the guide on the coach and the Etna tour guide were knowledgeable and friendly and the trip moved at a brisk pace returning us to Taormina in time for a swim. Walking round the craters is quite demanding for 60 somethings but well worth the effort.
An amazing experience. Tour guide was not very good would like to have been told some more information. He was not very informative of were to go and when to be back.
Well worth doing but be warned that no matter what the weather appears to be, always take warm clothing.
Brilliant trip. Took the coach to the base of Etna. The cable car takes you up so far and then you catch a jeep up to the summit. When you get off the cable car you are asked if you want to hire a coat - I would highly recommend this as it's really cold thousands of feet up Etna! We just had shorts and tops on - not ideal! Once at the top you meet up with your guide and they take you round various craters - absolutely fantastic - would love to do it again.
FANTASTIC!!!!!! It was great and I highly recommend doing it all-the full day one!!!
Mt Etna was beautiful and our local tour guide was great. We drove up to the top and even took the cable car!
We had a day to see Mt Etna and this was a great way! It was well organised and I recommend it to everyone!
Although the weather conditions on Mt Etna obscured any good views of the mountain, this trip was worth it. Taking the cable car and 4-wheel drive bus to the 3000 metre mark was also worth the extra cost. The landscape was amazing - like the surface of the moon or of Mars.
Well worth going up to craters. Again guides gave lots of useful information.
Everything was perfectly organized, we were picked up at our apartment in Taormina-Mazzaro, thanks to the flexibility of the local organizer. The trip was convenient, comfortable with air-cindioned bus, our guide was well-prepared and fluent both in English and German. The view from Etna is unforgettable - highly fecommended to everyone!
Loved the trip! It was a great adventure with none of the stress.Wear comfortable shoes for lots of walking and take water. Also check the weather, there was still snow on top and very windy when we went.
Excellent tour guide and driver! Mt Etna tour was amazing. Make sure to dress warm as it is cold near top.
Brilliant experience. Well worth the money to do the cable car and 4 x 4 minibus. Our guide was very informative and took us round a crater explaining the formation etc. A very well organised trip - picked up and dropped off right outside our hotel.

My top tip for this tour is be prepared for temperature changes and have a warm coat. When we left Taormina it was 19C, 3000m up Mt Etna not only was it windy.... hello snow blizzard. We upgraded our tour to include transport to the top, it's worth it for the views and craters. My mum is on crutches, whilst it wasn't the easiest terrain for her we were aware it wouldn't be she did what she could and it was manageable.
