In the morning, make your own way to the ferry terminal at the Brooke St Pier to board the fast ferry to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). During the ride, you'll have access to the ferry's exclusive Posh Pit, which provides snacks, Moorilla wine, and Moo Brew beer.
Enter the MONA with the included admission ticket when you arrive to explore the museum's permanent collection and rotating exhibits on your own. The MONA opened in 2011 in a picturesque location on the Derwent River and showcases owner David Walsh's art collection, which ranges from modernist masterpieces and international art to ancient Egyptian funerary objects. The property is also home to the Moorilla restaurant and winery, and luxury accommodation.
After your time in the museum, a wine ambassador from the Moorilla winery takes you on a private behind-the-scenes tour of the vineyard and winery. Follow the trail of grapes as they are handpicked, crushed, pressed, fermented, and matured. You can even taste some wine as it is being made. The tour includes a tailored tasting of Moorilla’s Praxis and Muse series in the chic underground barrel room. Top it off with a bottle of Moorilla's celebrated Muse pinot noir to take home.
Next up, head to The Source restaurant for your 2-course lunch. MONA's executive chef prepares the fine meal and pairs it with wines from Moorilla’s Cloth Label and Muse series. Take in views of the vineyard, the Derwent River, and Mt Wellington from the restaurant.
In the late afternoon, ride the ferry back to Hobart to end your tour.
