This was a great trip and we thoroughly enjoyed the countryside and our driver was excellent. Jan joined us as sat and enjoyed a coffee and the tour of the kiwi orchard and bees was extremely interesting. Travelling the countryside with something who knows and enjoys the area is wonderful I would highly recommend this trip to any one going to New Zealand. Tks Jan
Great itinerary. Very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and driver.
Loved this small group tour! Was able to get a personal tour of Kiwi 360 Experience with the owner of the farm. The honey plant was interesting and different.
This tour exceeded our expectations in several ways. It was small enough to have a family outing atmosphere. The guide was engaging and informative and gave an excellent introduction to the life and challenges of the local region. This included the bee industry and the kiwi fruit industry mini tours which were well done. But for our group of seven seniors, all agreed that the highlight was an outstanding walk in a local rainforest where the guide introduced us to the ecosystem including plants and birds. I came away with excellent photos. There was an unexpected attention of the guide that I must mention because it amazed us. My brother is in a wheel chair as a result of ataxia and it is difficult for him to climb onto the bus. We were prepared to help him but the guide is a former nurse and she knew how to make it easier for him. She insisted on taking personal care of my brother and made him very welcome on the trip. For us this typified a company that cares about the guests. Overall this was a tour that I would highly recommend.
Wonderful day. Our guide Peter was excellent, very friendly and very informative. Would highly recommend this tour.
Tauranga was a beautiful place. Our tour person was wonderful and took us to many places of interest - especially the waterfall, kiwi farm and honey bees. We were able to take many photos and didn't feel rushed.
very professional pickup, the guide and tour content excellent
My husband and I ended being the only people on this tour. Our guide Wendy was outstanding! She was very personable and obviously loved showing us around her area. We visited the Bee Comvita company and the Kiwi Fruit company which were both interesting. We had a lovely lunch (not included) and spent time touring the area of the Bay of Plenty. We also did a short bushwalk to a falls in a park. Most of the people on the ship headed to the Rotorua area but we had been there before. We quite enjoyed the day that we spent with Wendy!
Easy meet up with guide who was proud to show us the Bay of Plenty area. Fascinating tour of the kiwi fruit farm and the honey processing operation. Educational and informative. Had lunch at a small family café. Very good. The guide took us to McClaren sic Falls state park. On the return trip to ship our guide explained the Maori tribes histories and shared some interesting looks at how they live today. Good small group tour.
We really enjoyed this tour. We were able to see so much more because of the small group. The McLaren waterfall area was beautiful, it would have been nice to have a little free time to hike down. Kiwi 360 was interesting and the samples were fun to try. The Manuka Honey was ok, the tour seemed like it was geared towards school age children. Lunch was ok, the cafe was over whelmed when we arrived and told us it would be a 1/2 hour wait. So there were a few ups and downs but I still feel it was worth it. We could not have seen as much as we did on a shore excursion from the ship and being in a small group made it much more pleasant.
Eric and Mike led this tour. For a couple of mature guys they knew their area and were quite happy to pass on the good points. The tour of the Convita Honey was OK as an educational experience but lacked the hands on feel- it could have been in a hall elsewhere. The Kiwi Farm had a better touch/feel experience and was good to see. Lunch self accommodated was at a nice cafe which everyone enjoyed. The lookout over the bay was a highlight in perspective of the area. Well done Eric and Mike.
Good tour, well presented. Only down side was we left 1 hour late waiting for another cruise liner to arrive.

our guide/driver, Wendy, did a great job of showing us around and we felt the tour was a good value.
Don't go. Guide could not be understood by anyone on tour. Not a problem that we had to wait for guests from second ship to arrive but was a problem that we then had to take a few people back to the cruise ship as they only booked half the tour and we had to go out of the way (waste time for them). The Kiwi conservation facility was mostly a buy sell opportunity and much more time was spent waiting for shoppers than learning about the kiwi industry. The stop at the honey factor was again a sales pitch. Best part of tour was lunch, but that was not covered. The stop at the waterfall was thankfully short and way overrated. The guide had managed to add an extra two hours to the tour and then tried to cut it short by taking a vote of passengers which was totally inappropriate and difference of opinion aggravated many people. Totally unprofessional.
Well I would not do the full day. The place they take you for lunch is not good at all and then the waterfall is not impressive at all. The Kiwi and honey tour were very good. We could not understand our guide at all and the tour left one hour late so we had to stand there waiting.
