This was a very entertaining experience!
They explain and show the different Sumo moves used, both legal and illegal with two retired Sumo wrestlers. You'll soon see that Sumo are remarkably strong and flexible!
They also explain Sumo ranks, history and the tournament. You also get to view a video about the training and Sumo stable.
They are very informative and add a lot of humour to the event. You're also able to ask the Sumo directly about anything you want.
The chanko nabe is delicious, and I usually hate hot pot type food.
The best part is that you can wrestle the Sumo in a Sumo costume, although, it's more like you struggle against them and fail miserably, then they let you win, hahaha...
They included a picture of the front of the establishment when I booked, the venue is on the second floor.
Great opportunity to learn about history and technique of sumo wrestling as well as to see the concrete demonstration by two enchanting guys. Good way to prepare for the tournaments.
It was fun guests have opportunity to challenge sumo wrestlers and educative at the same time. Warm welcome, awesome explanation, possibility to ask the questions to the sumo wrestlers.
Chanko nabe the meal was delicious.
This is more than just a lunch. We found out about history, the techniques, training and also had some fun. They are great to watch, we also had a good laugh.
This was well worth the price! it was the Most memorable event in Tokyo!!!! The entire family from Grandma to kids 10 and 7 - we ALL had a great time! They took the time to explain the training, techniques and in the end a personal Q and A session with the guests. They did sumo fights with the guests and let me tell you, they ARE Strong!!! The food was delicious!!!
Informative and highly entertaining. Well worth the visit!
This experience was fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the sumo demonstration! The food was excellent. Taking pictures and wrestling with the sumos was lots of fun!! I would highly recommend this tour!!
Very Personal welcoming experience. The Organisers and Sumos were amazingly friendly, we would recommend the up close and personal experience to anyone. We enjoyed the experience with 3 young kids 10, 7, 4 and they absolutely loved it. The Sumo lunch was also fantastic.
Sumo Do, Sumo Dont, We Did!!
If there is one highlight not to be missed during your Japan trip, it would have to be having lunch with the Sumos. Our experience was amazing! These humble men allowed us a fantastic glimpse into the world of the Sumo as two retired Sumo champions demonstrated a variety of techniques that were, and were not, permitted within the ring. They provided 3 bouts for us to watch and then sat with us for a traditional Sumo lunch of Chankonabe, salad, rice, fries, and sweets. We were provided with an English commentary during the show that was both informative and entertaining. After the demonstration all guests were then invited onto the floor to take part in a sumo bout, hug the wrestlers, and pose with them. Photo opportunities galore as everyone laughed and applauded when these giants were wrestled to the floor by mere mortals. Definitely a bucket list opportunity.
Fascinating demonstration and a nice meal.
Good experience, took a while to find the location, really cool that the sumo wrestler sat and had the lunch with us
