Explore Tokyo's Nocturnal Playground with a Local

So where do I begin... First of all I was expecting a Local meaning born and raised in Tokyo. Our guide was Italian / Swedish living in Tokyo for many years. He was very nice, knowledgeable about the city history and culture but... Again I was expecting a local taking us to their own personal local hangouts, bars, lounges and possibly meeting other locals. We were taken to typical tourist areas and tourist bars / hangouts where we had to pay sit down fees. I had originally asked for 11pm meet up and they requested to change the meet up to midnight. Because of this later meet up and it being a Thursday when we arrived at the first location 90 percent of the places had closed already. Next we went to Golden Gai, sat down ordered 1 beer and one sake. The tour guide drank half of the sake ordered with me and my husband drank the beer. When the 45 bill came the guide didnt offer to pay for half of the sake. After this we were pretty much over the tour and the night and left on our own 1.5 hours early. Basically I feel like this tour took us to touristy places we would have or could have done on our own. It wasn't the LOCALS experience I was paying to get. I dont recommend this tour not worth the 200 we paid at all! I recommend going to the tourist locations on your own and spend that 200 on the experience.
