A big reason I booked our trip to Japan was to visit Tsukiji Market before it moves. I enjoyed trying various Japanese foods- including the ones I didn't like and was glad I hadn't actually ordered in a restaurant! I never would have found or been brave enough to enter the inner market without our guide's direction. Highly recommend visiting the market if you can before it moves!
Thank you Naoko for the amazing tour! This review is a little late, we did the tour on December 26th. Such a great experience. We tried so much delicious food, and had all our (many) questions answered. Naoko was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the traditions. Excellent!

AWESOME tour! AWESOME food! AWESOME guide! A good tour of the outer and inner market. Food tastings were good, especially the Japanese omelet and the raw tuna on skewers. Our guide, Yoshie was great! She was very well informed about the market and also helpful in giving us suggestions/directions to other points of interest in Tokyo. Highly recommend taking this tour of the original market before they move to the new location!
This was an amazing tour! Toshi was awesome and took us to great parts of the fish market. We even got to hold a huge Tuna fish in the market highlight of our trip. Toshi was knowledgable and gave us a bunch of fun facts that we would have never known about unless we took this tour. I have already recommended this tour to multiple friends who are visiting Tokyo! Thanks so much for the great experience!
Really great ! Yeonmi was our tour guide she was absolutely wonderful...knowledgeable and recommended so many places for the rest pf our vacation in Tokyo..will definetly recommended!
Toshi was our tour guide and we were taken on an intimate group tour we only had a total of 3 plus Toshi to tour around Tsukiji and within the market itself. We were visiting from California, USA while the other person in our group was from Norway. We met up at a temple nearby and he was able to give us not only information on Tsukiji but also history and information about other Japanese culture items and places nearby to the Tsukiji Fish Market. I found it was really great how we were able to sample different foods, not only of sushi, but of other Japanese snacks and foods. Being we could have tried to recreate the tour on our own, we would not have been able to have been able to highlight all the parts of the area in an efficient way and also we definitely would have been lost while walking around. Toshi also was so knowledgeable and fully fluent in English so he was able to answer any questions we had.
I really appreciated our time with him and touring the area and would do something similar to this in the future. When we went to visit a temple, he was able to explain a lot of symbolism and what people do customarily. It was all very educational and interesting.
Toshi, Thank you so much for taking us around! Eric and Elizabeth
If you have time to do one tour in Tokyo, this one is a must. An amazing way to see the hustle and bustle of the seafood industry whilst trying sampling their local cuisine. An amazing tour and experience!!!
My tour guide was Chihiro and she was absolutely wonderful. She answered all my questions, was patient, and was highly knowledgeable. Chihiro shared about the workings of the Fish market as we toured the stalls and informed of us of Japanese culture and customs. I highly recommend this tour!
Kumi, our guide, was amazing! We went as a family of four and she made sure she explain everything for both adults and children 13yrs and 12yrs. The children enjoyed this as much as we did and we had the opportunity to try many types of food ending with lunch at a Standing sushi bar. The experience was interesting, enlightening and fun! We would definitely do this again.
This tour was incredible - especially the inner market! Even our 9 year old found it fascinating! Both of our guides were lovely, but the main guide, Hiroku, was very knowledgeable and, kindly, answered our questions. She spoke very good English. Tastings were fun and the sushi lunch was excellent!
Had a great time on this food tour! Yukio was a great guide. Highly recommend.
We truly enjoyed our tour around the fish market and all the food we tried. The best sushi, oysters and sashimy ever!!!: Our guide was excellent - easy going, entertaining and very knowledgeable. We had lots of fun and good time. She took us to a small temple in the area, which came as a pleasant surprise and enabled us to understand more about the culture and rituals, which we wouldn't be able to get. The other pleasant surprise was that we were split in small groups of 2-4 people. We were only 3 of us, which gave a chance to ask questions anytime. Highly recommend this tour, as the local travel agency in my opinion is very customer focused.
We had a great time on this tour of Tsukiji Fish Market. Our guide Tomiyo was an excellent guide, providing lots of background information. We could sample different items during the tour and finished with a very nice sushi lunch. Thank you again Tomiyo!
Highly recommended. The fish market was very interesting and while you could certainly go and walk around on your own, our guide showed us a lot we would have missed without her. The tour group was small 4 people in our case, which always makes a much better tour in my opinion, and we were able to ask plenty of questions, take extra time anywhere we wanted, and even learn some of the ins and outs of Japanese culture which was really helpful for the rest of our trip. A lot of delicious food including a full sushi lunch and even a sake tasting was included in the tour and made the tour cost seem like a downright bargain at that point. Unexpected highlights were tasting the best Japanese omelet I had on my 2 week trip and even getting a behind the scenes look at how they make the omelets, as well as seeing the attached vegetable market where I tasted the most absurdly delicious grapes did not think a grape was capable of tasting like that, also, they were pricy and not included in the tour but I could not resist getting some. We did this tour on our first morning in Tokyo and walked away that afternoon feeling like the bar had already been set high for the rest of our time in the city.
We had the best time with Yuko on the Tsukiji Market food tour! She showed us around the inner and outer markets and we sampled the most amazing food! It was definitely the highlight of our trip and we would not have gotten as good of an experience without Yuko! 10/10 must do!
This was my favorite food tour out of the 4 I've been on so far Manila, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo. Our tour guide was Youngmi and she was an excellent tour guide. Most tour guides are excellent, but she has a little edge to her and made the tour that much more fun. She had intricate knowledge of the foods and the history of the Fish Market and also provided a lot of insight into Japanese culture and etiquette- she herself having to assimilate, being from Korea and living in Japan for 16 years. My girlfriend and I plan on finding other tours that she personally conducts through the company she works for. Go... on... this... tour. It's well worth the money and makes for some amazing photo opportunities.
We enjoyed this tour on our second day in Tokyo and it was very informative. Our guide was amassing and caring, she made sure all of our needs are met during the food tour. We learned a lot not just about the food, fish market and Japanese food fascination but about Japanese culture in general from our lovely guide
Great tour and our tour guide Hoshi Star was excellent, she spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Thanks to our guide Yoshino, ably supported by Kumi. This was an awesome and intimate walking tour of Tsukiji outer and inner markets. There was food to try along the way that showcased the local food. Highly recommended. Thanks Yoshino and Kumi.

This was an incredible tour with our guide Kazu. He showed us not only the Fish Market, but some of the surrounding areas as well like the Buddhist temple and Shinto shrine. He had water for us and also took photos for us with his own camera and sent them to us a couple hours after we finished the tour. There was a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes, especially in the inner market where the ground is wet and slick. The foods we tried were so amazing, and everyone in the shops seemed happy to have us trying their foods. It was a great tour for a first timer to Tokyo like me.
I had a really good time. Sami and Yu are awesome guides and were extremely helpful and fun!!! Thank you very much for everything.
This is a great tour! Toshi was fantastic. I really think you get a better understanding of the market with a guide and tasting the food throughout the market followed by sushi was really a fun way to start a day in Tokyo.
Of our 2 week Japan trip and having multiple experiences Mt Fuji, Tokyo half day tour, etc..., the Tsukiji Fish Market experience was the best. Meg and Yu from Japan Wonder Travel delivered a fun and knowledge at very well paced food tour on the Tsukiji Fish Market.
Both were very knowledgeable and dedicated to every detail of their tour. Do yourself a favor a book this tour. You wont regret it.
No te arrepentiras
