Travel to Tokyo’s Higashi Nihonbashi Station in the morning where you’ll meet your instructor and proceed to your cooking location. You’ll pre-select your day’s cooking choice in advance, picking among 4 different Halal options like sushi, a meat-focused meal, seafood-focused meal or a tofu and vegetables-focused meal (see below). Please note that all participants in that day’s course will cook the same meal, so the first person to reserve for that specific date has priority in the day’s meal selection.
Learn more about the typical techniques and philosophy surrounding Japanese home cooking as you begin making the day’s chosen Halal-friendly dish. When your creation is complete, you’ll enjoy your meal served in traditional ‘Wajima’ lacquerware, a special style of Japanese serving vessel that dates back more than 150 years. This luxurious cookware, combined with your Halal-friendly meal composed of seasonal ingredients, is sure to provide a memorable way to further explore Japanese culinary practices. The four different meal options to choose from are as follows:
- Temari sushi course (Temari sushi, miso soup, side dishes, drinks)
- Meat course (main dish that uses a halal chicken, rice, miso soup, side dishes, drinks)
- Seafood course (main dish using seafood, rice, miso soup, side dishes, drinks)
- Tofu and vegetable dishes course (main dish using tofu and vegetables, rice, miso soup, side dishes, drinks)
