Head to be picked up at your hotel lobby, where you’ll meet your group and the coach that will transport you to Nikko. Travel for two hours to reach Nikko, arriving around 10am.
When you arrive in this historic town, you’ll have 90-minutes to explore at your leisure. You might visit the popular Castella Shop, check out the nearby souvenir stores, or visit “Toshoku,” a traditional Shinto shrine that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site (own expense). While in Nikko, you’ll also enjoy an included lunch of traditional Japanese fare with vegetarian options.
Leaving Nikko, travel by bus along the “Irohazaka,” a famous road known from the Japanese feature film and manga series “Initial D.” During the autumn months the road is the setting for a beautiful display of fall foliage colors. You’ll soon arrive at Lake Chuzenji and then continue to the Kegon Waterfalls for more sightseeing. After visiting the waterfalls, you’ll be returned to your original starting point in Tokyo around 6pm.
