Absolutely worth the money, it's a great way to get your bearings and then to plan an itinerary.
Which was very useful for us as we traveled with older teenagers and we were very confident after this tour to let them go off by themselves.
Our Guild was very knowledgeable, helpful and allowed us the flexibility to stay at sights that interested us and to miss what we did not interest us.
Thank you for making our trip to your beautiful city very enjoyable and hassle free
Our guide Meg is a keeper. superb tour for my wife and I. We never had a better walking tour. This is testimony to Meg's knowledge of the city and skillful presentation skills. Excellent English and Japanese. In a huge city bustling with cherry blossom anticipation we saw everything noteworthy, especially tucked away architectural treats.
This was the most fantastic day and worth every cent. Our guide Ikumi was the most beautiful and caring lady, who helped us with so many other things - not just relating to the tour. Ikumi was informative, professional and friendly. We visited the sights we had nominated as well as many other places she included along the way. Ikumi also went an hour and a half longer than the tour was meant to go for. I would give this tour and Ikumi 5 starts and recommend it to anyone considering it.
This tour was so interesting and fun. Our tour guide Ikumi was charming and extremely well organized. She provided great insight and information beyond what we were expecting. The tour we planned involved a lot of walking, so when my energy flagged and feet started to hurt, Ikumi changed our itinerary to accommodate me. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour and Ikumi as a guide.
Meg was an awesome tour guide. We customized a full day tour using public transit. Meg is delightful and insightful helping us to make the most of our time inclusive of an amazing luncheon! Highly recommend this customized tour if your time in Tokyo is limited!
A good way for a first contact with this city and to be autonomous after particularly with the public transport.
Excellent insight into Tokyo culture and areas.
Picked up from our hotel and taken to many very interesting areas, streets, shops and parks including lunch in a small Japanese restaurant.
Meg our guide spoke really good english, and gave us lot's of background all day.
Showed us the subway and helped us buy bullet train tickets for later in the week. Gave us lot's of advice on where to go and what to do from our hotel as well as showing us shrines, wacky photo booths, Nissan cafe where they print your face on the coffee and cars for the boys, deep into the fish market, tea ceremony, bonsai shops, pretty parks, buildings etc
Our guide, Meg, was very knowledgable and flexible for our group of eight. A great introduction to Tokyo, it's history and culture.
Simply brilliant. Silvia was an amazingly friendly and knowledgeable guide and I learnt so much about Tokyo in a very short time although much much more to learn still. Before I left Meg gave me a list of suggestions for the day from which I chose 4 things - all quite different. This was very helpful! I could not have asked for a better day.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the various sites that we went to see. We chose the half day tour, which was set at a nice pace for us. It was our first day in Tokyo and our tour guide helped explain the subway and rail systems which was very helpful since we used subway's for our entire trip. We chose to see the fish market and the gardens and topped it off by riding the monorail. She explained facts about Japan and Japanese life all along the way. It was a great tour.
Fantastic and well worth the money. Meg was knowledgable, delightful and flexible. She spent extra time answering our questions and showing us the metro.
A great thing to do the first day in Tokyo. We got a flavor of Tokyo and Meg helped us pick places to return to another day. She was making sure we were comfortable giving us water and finding a place to just relax and take in the culture.
We booked this private tour for our first full day in Tokyo and are so glad that we did! Our guide was super friendly and accommodating we went during the hottest season, and the temperature was around 97 degrees that day we made multiple cafe stops to cool off. She toured us through Akihabara, Ginza, Shinjuku, Kabukicho, and Yanata. The tour was super helpful is orienting us to Tokyo's subway system, which proved very useful for the rest of our vacation. Our lunch that day soba noodles was super delicious as well, and we wouldn't have found it without our guide.
Ikumi was the perfect guide. We only had one full day in Tokyo and she managed to squeeze as much as possible into 8 hours. We couldn't have done it without her. She met us at our hotel and she spoke perfect Japanese and English. She took us to a shrine, a temple, an authentic Japanese lunch of soba noodles with chopsticks and a taste of sake, showed us how to ride the trains, some shopping and much more. We would definitely recommend the custom tour to see exactly what you want to see.
It's a bit pricey but is definitely worth it especially in my case travelling with 2 young kids 6 and 1 yr old. Meg guide and Tanaka san driver were excellent and very friendly!
If you are visiting Tokyo or Japan without a travelling companion who can speak/ understand Nihonggo and wants some personal touch in your Tokyo experience, this is a must! Meg helped us big time to have a better appreciation of Tokyo- the city, food, culture, and its people!
We had a wonderful excursion around Tokyo with our guide. She guided us around the vast Tokyo metro system to many places of interest. One of the highlights was lunch at an authentic sushi restaurant in the sprawling fish market area.
My fiance and I took this tour the day after we arrived in Tokyo, and honestly, it could not have worked out any better. We needed a day to recover/adapt to the time difference and when it was time for this tour we were still a bit tired. Nonetheless, our tour guide, Ikumi, was energetic, upbeat, and outstanding. She really made us feel welcome. The entire time felt more like, going out with a friend rather than being pushed facts and information about certain things. She took us to several locations including the Tuskiji Fish Market which sadly is being moved to make way for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. If you have not had a chance to see it, I HIGHLY recommend you do so before it is permanently moved. The experience you get there is literally, once in a lifetime. If you are considering going to Tokyo, please visit the Tuskiji Fish Market before it is gone!
For us, what really made our entire 2 week trip in Japan was Ikumi. WIthout her and this tour early on in our stay, we would have been lost, confused, and unable to communicate other than basic Japanese, she taught us some keywords which we are forever thankful for. If you can, definitely request her. She is one of those people that you may have only just met minutes ago, but you feel like youve known her your whole life.
This tour was wonderful. My guide Ikumi was great. She was very nice and knowledgable. She took me around Tokyo and made me feel as if I was touring around Tokyo with a friend. We went to the major highlights and she also took me to places I may be interested in. Thank you again Ikumi.
We had a wonderful day in Tokyo. This is definitely the way to go if you're only spending a few days in Tokyo.
Loved the tour. Our guide Silvia made sure we saw many of the sights we were interested in during the tour.

The local guide, Sylvia, arrived at my hotel on time and we began the day tour of Tokyo. The transport vehicle was clean and the driver knew exactly where to go. Sylvia was friendly, informative, easy to understand and knew the subject matter. We were finishing a bit early so she added a few extra locations and sights to see. I was most pleased with the tour and heartily recommend it.

This was a great tour and our guide Meg was simply amazing. She really helped us understand the history of the places we were visiting and did a fabulous job during the tour. For someone visiting Tokyo, this tour is highly recommended.
Meg was our tour guide. She did an excellent job, she was not only flexible but also knowledgeable about where we decided to go. I would recommend her to everyone, definitely a five out of five.
We had our full day private tour in Tokyo with Meg and it was great. Meg is very friendly and knowledgeable and really gave us a great tour of many areas in Tokyo.
The Fish Market was a sight to see and we saw Shrines and Temples as well as different shopping neighborhoods. Our lunch in a restaurant in Ginza was fantastic.
I highly recommend this tour for any first timer going to Tokyo.
We personalized our tour, and started out getting an orientation to the metro system. Huge help in learning our to purchase tickets, read maps, and just generally get around Tokyo. Then our guide led us to some great landmarks. It was an invaluable way to start our first full day in Tokyo on our first visit. Loved how we could tailor this to our interests and needs. Great! WE did the tour on foot.
Meg is wonderful and an excellent guide! We had the full day with public transportation. She customized the tour to our interests and provided us with great suggestions for the rest of our stay. It was helpful being introduced to Toyko by a local, from the public transportation, different neighborhoods, to local customs. She really made our stay and experience so much better! She's so sweet and just an amazing person. I highly recommend!
