Make your way to Shakujii-kōen Station, accessible via the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Meet your host outside of the main (larger) gate of the station at 11:30am. Climb into a vehicle for a short drive to your host's home, located on a narrow street in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Step inside the kitchen for your private lesson and, alongside your host, learn how to make 2-3 dishes, each with a creative spin on traditional Japanese cuisine.
Menu items may include a fresh take on chirashi sushi or a signature teriyaki chicken. Afterward, sit down for your meal at the dining table and end your 3-hour experience with an informal Japanese tea ceremony. Your host will help you with directions to get back to your hotel.
