I had a good time. Jiro was a fun instructor with a good attitude. It was a rainy day and I was the only one there and so received individual instruction for the whole time which was very nice. This is not a formal martial arts class. You're dressed up in a samurai outfit, they take photos of you, and then teach you basics of how to draw and hold the sword, how to stand & move, how to make cuts. The final product is they take a short video of you and the instructor going through a scripted sparing match (note: you win!).

Quite hard to find (look up on the building). Take few more minutes extra for locating the entrance :) Very friendly welcome in cosy atelier! Many choices how to dress up and if you dont know, the pro staff will help you out. I personally did photo shooting only once in my lifetime, but Jiro, without any frustration from my side, navigated me how to put into the pose. Very appreciated! After photo session went to small room to practice the art of samurais. From how to respect spirit of the sword, through honoring your opponent to sword fencing itself. Jiro is very skilled, very nice work with people and also funny fellow :))) I really enjoyed entire practice and just made me feel I want to continue in practice somehow. Samurai Experience in Tokyo

We went through this experience on the last day of our stay in Tokyo and we did not regret it. Place is difficult to find and you need to ask around to find it but the experience was really good. We got dressed as Samurai and after having a lot of photos of us being taken in the Samurai costume, we then went and had Samurai training with videos of our training being captured also! During the training we were given detailed information regarding the history of Samurai and their training. Very pleasurable experience, which if someone is interested in martial arts, would definitely enjoy.

Firstly, getting dressed into samurai outfits really puts you mentally into this historic character. Then some really cool professional photos, to remember the event. The best part is the training session, where you get expert tuition on how to present yourself, work with training swords and have a mock battle. I will never forget it, and neither will my son, whom I surprised with this event. You get a small license at the end, which I carry always and remember fondly of the fun we had. Highly recommend this event - great people, costumes and effort to make it as real as possible, and so much fun.

This was a really fun experience. From kimono dressing up to photoshoot to samurai choreographed training - it all was a unique experience as a visiting international tourist. Got a DVD at the end with pictures. I wish they gave a little more history of samurai and the art form.

A highlight of our time in Tokyo. The 3 guys doing this were brilliant, from dressing us all up as samurai to the 75 minute actual class. They taught us the techniques well and were friendly and fun to be around. The two main guys who run this are exponents of the craft in exibitions in New York and India. A must do experience for the whole family for all ages and easily found in Asakusa near the temple.

My son loved the training/photo shoot! It was great fun for a 9 year old boy to dress as a samurai and learn how to use the sword. The trainer was very nice and dressed us in Japanese attire. He took pictures of us separately and together in our outfits and emailed them to us. He gave us a brief lesson on how to use the samurai swords in battle. It made for an enjoyable morning!

Esta experiencia resultó ser una de las mejores cosas que hicimos en nuestro viaje. En internet sale más información sobre este local con un mapa que permite encontrar el lugar de manera más fácil en Asakusa. Llegamos 10 minutos antes como lo pedían en el bono y nos atendieron de inmediato. Primero nos vistieron, nos hicieron la sesión de fotos y luego la parte mas divertida.... las clases de Samurai. Fué una experiencia única, nos grabaron un video en una batalla Samurai y nos dieron un carnet de Samurai con nuestra foto como souvenir.
