Possibly the most bizarre yet wonderful thing we did while we were in Japan! It's very hard to describe the robot show, but if you have time and the means please go to it! The Alice dinner before was also very lovely, especially for fellow Disney fans or anyone else who likes a cute restaurant and a nice meal. Together they made for a very odd but highly enjoyable and memorable night!!!
Awesome! Just freaking awesome!
We still have no idea what we actually watched - but the energy, the crazy floats and costumes, the AMAZING can not stress this enough performers and backstage crews - it was all truly out of the world.
If you have ONE night in Tokyo, go to the Tokyo Robot Cabaret Show.
However, miss the Alice in Wonderland dinner - it was really not nice and the staff quite rude.
There are plenty of fantastic places to eat right near the show itself.
This show is incredible fun and something super different to do and see. Dinner was great and my husband and I loved the themed restaurant and drinks. The robot cabaret show was just great fun.
A lot of fun! Food at the Alice restaurant was fabulous.
This was amazing! The Alice in Wonderland Restaurant was filled with locals celebrating special occasions where the Robot Cabaret had nearly all foreigners. Our seats were center front row where all the action was.
We had a great time at the robot show, it is crazy and so entertaining - we were grinning from ear to ear or laughing almost the entire time. The robot show is a must do unless you don't like loud noises. The restaurant was also fun and very tasty, but the robot show was definitely the highlight.
The Alice restaurant was very cute. The Robot Restaurant was completely crazy and over the top. It is sensory overload, so possibly not everyone and #39;s cup of tea. It was very loud too. The directions to the venue were a bit confusing. Luckily having the Burger King as a landmark helped us find Alice.
We enjoyed this experience overall. The Alice in Wonderland themed Restaurant is great, the service good and décor lovely. The only downside to the dinner was that we had ordered Plan A:
Green Salad, - Margarita pizza, - Beef Bolognese Penne, - Cheese tart with seasonal fruits, however, this was not what we were given. The Green Salad and Margarita Pizza both were good, but we were served a seafood pasta and strawberry sorbet for dessert. No issues with the dessert as it tasted good, but as none of our family eat any seafood the main was not ok. The waitress spoke very little English and our Japanese is very limited so it was difficult to explain that we were expecting beef and did not like seafood. Eventually we managed to get the message across but we were told there was no beef available and we ended up getting a plain basil pasta which was ok but not great.
The Robot Restaurant Show was vibrant and entertaining. We very much enjoyed the show itself, but extended waiting times before, and during the show meant that we were in the venue from 7.10pm until 9.30pm, to see in essence a 45minute show. During the wait times there was a constant sales pitch to sell drinks, snacks and popcorn but as we had just had dinner at the Alice in Wonderland restaurant we were not hungry at all so just got hot and bored waiting.
The Robot Restaurant was fine but the Alice in Wonderland Restaurant spoke very little English. We showed them our printed itinerary and our name was on the list but I don't know what happened but it was as if they didn't know we had a pre booked menu and they asked us to order off their menu. So we did, then the food came out but she told us we couldn't have that food and took it away and disappeared for 40 minutes. Finally she came back and I showed her our print out again then she disappeared again and 20minutes later our first course finally came out. It took us just over 2 hours to eat our very small 3 course meal. It felt as though they hadn't seen that package before and with the language barrier it became very confusing and uncomfortable for everyone and we didn't enjoy it at all.
Then when we went to leave we had to go to the front desk and show the print out again and it took 2 people and 15 minutes for them to finally let us leave without any extra charge. Needless to say we couldn't wait to get out of there. How confusing!
