Loved every second of it. Huge thanks to Yoshi who was the perfect host there is no way we would have coped with such a trip without her excellent explanation of all the things around us. The outer market was brilliant, we sampled all kinds of new and strange foods....all were delicious. To top it all we then became sushi masters and enjoyed a fabulous banquet for lunch. That was great fun many thanks to the chef and team who gave us a warm welcome and were so impressive at what they do. Thoroughly recommend this to everyone.
Fantastic Tour with a great guide. Amazing class and very tasty!
We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the tour. Our guide was brilliant he knew a lot but didnt overload us, and kept the whole tour interesting and fun. The market was mind blowing, and the sushi making class was an absolute highlight of our trip.
We had a great tour with the very welcoming, knowledgeable Ekotu! She was fun, showed us around, made sure we were safe and made sure we wanted for nothing. Good tour to do with a local person, to explain the ways of the area.
We were two couples who hit if off right. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly Great group dynamics allowed us to explore and enjoy the experience at our pace

Touring the Tsukiji Fish Market with a Sushi Making lunch proved to be one of the highlights of our recent trip to Tokyo. Our guide was knowledgeable, and personable, and the sushi making event was entertaining as well as educational. My 13-year-old son and I had a blast! Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the fish!
This was a fascinating and fun experience. The Market was incredible!. Our guide was great and now I have a certificate in Sushi making.
The tour was just the 4 from our family, so we felt like our guide was able to allow us to buy some things that we saw along the wayin the outer market. Our guide, Yukio, was excellent. He was very knowledgable, and he took us up to the top level of a parking garage that gave us a great birds eye view of the whole market. He made several stops throughout the outer market so we could sample a variety of foods like dried squid, some pickled vegetables, and bonita flakes, just to name a few. He was very patient with my father 84 years old and always looking out for him. The sushi making experience was fun. We made more than we could eat. The lunch even included miso soup and a few pieces of tempura which unfortunately were cold like they were fried earlier rather than fresh in addition to the 8 pieces of nigiri and 2 rolls cucumber and tuna that we made ourselves. The sushi chef who taught us even fileted a snapper in front of us and gave us each an additional nigiri from that making 9 pieces all together.
Amazing small group 3 persons tour with Ikuko-san! Ample time in fish and vegetable markets followed by terrific sushi making experience with Ginza chef. Couldn't have asked for anything better!
The guide was brilliant. This was a fascinating morning and the sushi making was great fun. Highly recommended.
I went on the Fish Market tour and sushi making. Our tour guide, Lily was excellent. Competent,
patient, knowledgable and very kind. She went out of her way to walk me home after tour to
ensure I got to my hotel. This was the second tour I went on previous day a bus tour with Viator.
I recommend this tour group to anyone.
We did this tour with our teenage boys and we all had a brilliant time. Yeonmi was our tour guide, she was full of energy...had an extraordinary amount of knowledge and patience as we wanted to try and taste everything on offer on the outer market. Yeonmi was also very clever on the inner market, as she showed us everything whilst being sensitive and respectful of those trying to work. After the market, we travelled by taxi to Ginza to make sushi. We were led into a private room inside a restaurant where everything was laid out for us and our fellow travellers whod been assigned different guides in the market. In came our sushi chef who despite not speaking English managed to make us all laugh whilst we were learning to make sushi. We went on to eat the sushi that wed made, and waiters also bought out miso soup, tempura and green tea...... there was loads of food, they even managed to fill our teenage boys. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Tokyo, wed definitely recommend it to others.
This was a great tour! The tour guide was very attentive and helpful. He explained a lot to us about what we were seeing and took all of the pictures to ensure we would have good pictures of the trip. The sushi making experience was delightful. I loved that it was step by step and they would provide individual help. The fish market tour was great too. Our guide knew how to take us in to avoid all of the traffic of people at certain times of the day. He also let us know specific place along the way that were good for buying snacks or trying local delicacies. I was paired with a father and his two daughters. I never felt by myself, because the tour guide did such a good job including me and generating conversation among the group. Great tour! I would do it again!
Loved this experience especially we had the guid to ourself who was very well spoken and had a good knowledge of the market
We had a great experience with our guide, Yuriko. She was super knowledgeable, patient, kind and considerate. She even made little gifts for our kids! I've been to Tsukiji maybe 4 times before this, but I learned many new things on this tour. The sushi making was fun, too!
Too fun for words! My 12 year old son enjoyed it so much that he calls this the highlight of our Japan vacation. The lunch included was really too much and we had a good time learning how to make sushi. Our guide was lovely and fun to be with. The sushi chef hardly spoke english but somehow he was able to teach us thru gestures. I highly recommend this tour!!!
This was a wonderful tour and exceeded all expectations. Our guide Lily was terrific. We had four people total in our group, which made it feel very personal and allowed us to stop at multiple places in the market to try different foods and learn from Lily about different cuisine. We toured the outer market with many of the shopping stalls for roughly an hour, and then proceeded to the inner market to see the operations inside. We spent roughly 1 hour in the inner market, and then took a cab to a sushi restaurant in Ginza where we learned how to butcher fish and make sushi rolls and sashimi with a sushi chef. It was fantastic. The room was very intimate and traditional where we were seated on the floor and the lunch was fresh and delicious. Lily was wonderful and the tour was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Yukio was an excellent guide. We saw - experienced - much more than we expected to at both the outer and inner markets. Go before the city moves it to a new location in coming months and then go again!. The sushi-making after was fun and easy even I could do it.
Really enjoyed this tour. Had the opportunity to sample a lot of Japanese foods and learn a lot about he culture surrounding the fish market. Our guide was very knowledgable. The sushi making class after was so much fun! The chef was very skilled but also very patient with us.
The Tsukiji was one of the highlights of our stay in Tokyo! Our tour guide had fantastic insights into the inner workings of the fish markets, and all the weird and wonderful things we saw in the fish market. The sushi making class was a great way to finish off a tour of the markets!
This Tour was well worth the cost. We had wonderful tour of the outer market with our tour guide taking us to many shops to sample their specialties as he seemed to personally know many of the vendors. Then we took tour of the inner market which was impressive as well.
The Best part of our Tour was our Sushi making session with our Sushi Chef. We were taught how to correctly mold the rice then added various toppings. After making each nigiri we ate it. Then we made another, then ate it..then another and another. We even tasted the sushi seared which added another flavor- you need to try this, and added various salts to the sushi more flavor here. Our 9 year old loved the Scallops with salmon eggs on top- she ate as much as we did...all you can eat!
Although, the tour price initially seemed high, we are so glad to have chosen this tour as it was well worth the price. When we come back to Tokyo, we'd love to do the sushi portion again!
Aloha from Hawaii !
Mari was awesome ! She was great! Very informative and friendly and the sushi chef was very patient with us and helped our sushi look terrific at the end. It was a great day :
Great tour of the market, but the highlight was the sushi making.
This tour was a highlight of our vacation. We were the only ones that booked the tour for that day, so we lucked out. The meeting location area is right by the subway exit and we found Toshi right away. Toshi, our tour guide was superb. He knows Tsukiji extremely well and took my husband and I all over the market, sharing tips and recommending specialty items of the shops. We've booked many tours but Toshi was by far the best guide we have had. We felt very comfortable with him, and he took great care with us. He speaks English well and is very knowledgable and accommodating to our needs. His pace was perfect and we were not rushed but able to see and experience a lot of new things. After walking through Tsukiji, we went to the Ginza for our sushi class. The restaurant was very Japanese, and very nice. We were in a Japanese-style room not like the photo above that looks like a stand up class and everything was ready for us. They did not make us feel like tourists we felt very special. The sushi chef and restaurant staff were wonderful. The experience was very special and the time flew by. Tempura was included in our meal. After the class, Toshi figured out the subway route for us to return to our hotel and walked us to the subway. If you get Toshi as your guide, you will be well taken cared of. He made the day very special for us.
