What You Can Expect

Walking Food Tour of Shibuya at Night

Explore Shibuya by night

Get together with your guide in the early evening in Shibuya's Hachiko Square. You’ll spend the next 3 hours getting a locals-only taste of Tokyo’s hidden food scene.

Skip the overpriced tourist eateries and instead follow your guide inside some of Shibuya’s wealth of side-street restaurants favored by Tokyo residents. As you hop between food stops you’ll sample a variety of Japanese delicacies from across the country, including Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, Osaka-style takoyaki, seven different kinds of sushi, Wagyu Beef or Kobe beef ‘yakitori’ (barbecue) skewers, and even some taiyaki dessert. You’ll even get to wander through the labyrinth of food items for sale at a “depachika” (underground food hall). One included beverage will help you wash it all down.

Finish your food exploration back at your original starting point with a full stomach and a newfound appreciation for Japan’s one-of-a-kind gastronomic culture.

The guide, Tim, was energetic and knowledgeable. The variety of the food was wonderful and it was all very delicious. I appreciate Tim's flexibility in letting the group stop for a drink in Drunkard's Alley since we were walking through. I also appreciated the local stories about some of the culture in the area, in addition to the food.

The tour gave us a great introduction to local Tokyo food, some useful hints on choosing and ordering food and was a wonderful insight into Shibuya at night.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Guide was very friendly and not only told us about the food but answered lots of questions about living in Tokyo. We came away with full stomachs and brains. Highly recommend this tour to introduce yourself to the food scene in Tokyo. Shibuya is a very neat area...very busy.

Enjoyed this tour and our tour guide Asha was very good. She gave us a lot of information. The sushi was incredible
As all the other dishes. The walking in between dishes was great. It felt like a progressive dinner. Good fun.

This was a great tour! I learned so much about japanese food and culture. Tim was our tour guide and I felt like he was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions. He took us to several different spots, tried some great street food including Kobe beef skewers, plus we went to a fancy grocery store under the train station. I would definitely recommend people to try this tour especially if its your first time in japan, like it was mine. It will be educational and you will get to taste a variety of yummy food.

Well paced, a broad range of food to try, the guide Tim gave us great information about the customs and culture as well as the food.
I can recommend the early afternoon start as the crowds were less and we left the tour in the best area to then stay a little longer. The tour went overtime but Tim was happy to stay and help with directions, tips and advice with each of the group. Would highly recommend to start your holiday with this Tour as a great intro to the foods of Tokyo.

The food was great, but the tour and information on other things along the way was what really made it. We took our two kids 7 and 9 and nothing was a problem.

We went as a group of five and had Asha as our tour. We had a couple from Texas join us on our tour which were friendly to boot. We met up outside of Shibuya station and straight off the bat Asha was friendly and very informative. We had a barrel of laughs and got to try many foods including but not limited to, Takoyaki, sushi and Okonomiyaki. We got to see some great sights during the night time although it did rain for us it was still really enjoyable and Asha did her best despite it. I would certainly recommend this food tour to anyone new to Japan or who enjoys food :
