VTP delivered on their promise. We were driven safely and timely to Toledo back and forth from Madrid. The ticket for the tourist train was good too.

A perfect way to see and experience Toledo! We took the train first to get an overview of the city during which you are rewarded with a spectacular view of the city from a hill outside the city walls. Plenty of time to explore what you want. We stopped at the visitor's center first for map and guidance. Escalators assist people part way up the hills to the main square. However, with decreased mobility, we chose to take a public bus from the main entrance up to the main plaza for 2 euros and were the envy of others from our bus from Madrid who were now way behind us. Be prepared for lots of walking up and down hills.

We did this tour on our own with our guide dropping us off at a designated point close to the tourist information office so we were able to see the city at our own pace. The cathedral is a must to see and the city itself is quite stunning with it's narrow streets it's very charming. The tourist train takes you outside of the city and gives amazing views of the surroundings, a lovely day out.

First: Toledo is a MUST if you are in Madrid. Beautiful town on a hill where Jews, Christians and Muslims all lived together in peace for 400 years! I'd give this tour a 5 but our bus sort of dumped us at the entrance and left us on our own and although it was Toledo on your own it would have been nice to have been pointed in the right direction at the start. But, regardless, we found our way to all the major sites. DO TAKE THE Train - I know, it looks dorky but it takes you outside the city and you get to see the walls and it stops at a breathtaking overview!

The tour was perfect! The van picked up is on time and the guide was excellent! It was a rainy day so we decided to come back on the first bus, the van lefted us on a central area in Madrid.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this June 2016

They picked us up late...took us to another meeting point where we waited 15 minutes to transfer to another bus..since we did the tour on our own they just drop you off and never say anything as to a map or tourist center...Also, we never took the train it was all via bus. The tittle of tour says train -- pretty sad.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this March 2016

I didn't want to give it 1 star but because my group and I were very disappointed and felt cheated, I didn't have a choice. We got picked up at 8:15am bus has to pick up other people -fair enough, were told the tour starts at 9am the ride time into Toledo is counted as your tour time.. huh???. finally pull out at 9:15am to Toledo, after a small game of musical buses switching buses. We get there close to 10:30am, given the choice of the early 1pm return bus or the late 4:30pm bus. Of course chose latter. This tour is promoted as 8hrs to explore Toledo on your own, when in fact you have much less time than that, it's barely 5hrs.. 2hrs traveling to/from and another 1hr/1.5hrs on the line and tour train.. clearly not the enough time to do Toledo, go into the cathedral which is closed for 2hrs from 2pm-4pm, into the Alcazar, the sinagogas, etc. -- these are the main items we were not able to check out because we had to still trek back to the other side of Toledo to meet the bus. Needless to say, we feel like we left empty handed. Don't bill a tour as 8hrs when it's really not. Travel time to the destination should not count as 'tour time'. Toledo is a beautiful town and rich in history, with lots to explore...
