Norway is at its best in winter. Experience it for yourself with a winter-only sightseeing tour from Tromsø. Set out to explore the Arctic fjords and snap some incredible pics. You'll visit Whale Island, so named for the humpbacks and orcas you're likely to see swimming around its waters. While here enjoy a traditional Norwegian-picnic, Arctic style—with stunning scenery that includes snow-capped mountains and tiny villages.

We didn't know what to expect from this tour but it was really amazing. We were taken to some truly beautiful places where we took some postcard worthy pictures. Seeing wildlife along the way was cool. We saw a white tail eagal, a golden eagle and reindeer grazing at the side of the road. Our guides were great giving information about each area we visited. I would highly recommend this tour.
This was our second trip with Wandering Owl and absolutely worth the money you pay. Guide was super friendly and he took some amazing photos of ours. Best part was you can request the guide to stop anywhere you want and he will find a safe place to park his vehicle and give you time to explore the area.
A friendly guide, great food and stunning scenery. We we very licky with the weather which is a gamble. Definately worth using this tour when in Tromso. One of the beet tours I have ever done.
The trip was excellent with a breathtaking view of 'white' fjords, frozen lake etc during winter. Matias was our guide of the day - He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the landscapes around. Our picnic at the beach with sandwich and thick hot chocolate under the snow and heavy wind was marvelous although it is freezing cold. I highly recommended this tour if you are planning to experience arctic landscape in Tromso.
Weather was pretty bad, rain and howling winds at one time but Tom our guide managed to take us to some stunningly beautiful locations on this trip, the only thing which could be better is longer, but you have to take into account the light and conditions in an Artic area.
Tom, was great and the food was well received hot choc and cookies and massive sandwiches......
I would recommend and would do again as the landscape will change with the weather
well done Wandering Owl, I would just add that the trip was oversubscribed and I would not have liked to be the ones left behind, such a shame...
A young and very enthusiastic guide. We managed to see reindeer, sea eagles and on the way back hump back whales.
An all round wonderful experience.

A wonderful time on our landscape tour and the picnic lunch was very good. Plenty of time to see things, and the tour guide was very open to suggestions. Loved it.
Want to feel like an arctic explorer?
Small group arctic landscapes tour with Wandering Owl. When my sis and I booked this tour, we were after photographs. What we got was so much more than that - an adventure that left us in awe! The tour brought us to snowy beaches, sightings of orcas, otters, humpback whales and eagles on the fjords, and finally to an arctic tundra on top of a mountain. There was snow and rain and strong winds and our limbs were all frozen and I fell on my btt a few times but all that added to make the experience an unforgettable one for a while we were arctic explorers : Delphin was very engaging and it was inspiring to hear his passion about nature and the spots he brought us to. As with other Wandering Owl tours, we had the most lovely hot cocoa, and a delicious meal. This tour and Wandering Owl are highly recommended. I dont have the words to explain completely the experience and boy am I so glad I took some videos of our treks down and up beaches and mountains with the howling wind and my sniffling in the background, but this is right up there with the aurora chase.
Fantastic tout well worth taking at any time of year - small groups with the chance to see whales, eagle otters amazing day with cookies, tea and coffee and sandwich all provided well worth it
We had a great time, its a winter wonderland, guide who was lovely, took us to see the Fjords, which were beautiful, although out of season for the whales, we saw a whale in one of the fjords, which was amazing.Another fjord had seals in it,an another amazing sight, although out day was cut short because of a blizzard, which apparentley they call white out, because we couldnt see in front of us, it was an amazing trip, and would like to go back to wonderful Tromso.
