The actual overnight stay had to be cancelled due to high winds. Our guide Mark made up for it on the following day with a day tour where we got beautiful views of Trondheim and surroundings and learnt to spark a fire ourselves to brew our tea from needles.

My friend and I recently experienced this overnight excursion in Trondheim. We had a fantastic time. Our guide, Mark, was incredibly warm and welcoming and taught us plenty about Norway, from the country's history to the natural landscape in which we found ourselves. Due to weather conditions we weren't able to stay in their usual spot with an open shelter but instead we camped out by a frozen lake in a lavo tent-like shelter. Beautiful location and quite easy to get to from the city center. The traditional reindeer stew we ate for dinner was delicious and Mark made sure we were well fed with plenty of tea and hot chocolate to wash down our treats. We also went for a hike to a cabin that served cakes and coffees. There was no rush the next day to get back to town and we were thankful we got to go at our own pace on our hike. Thanks so much to Mark and Nature Tours for showing us a great time and introducing us to an activity we wouldn't have been able to try otherwise.
