Day 1: Full-day tour of Chichen Itza
Begin your day with an early-morning pickup from your central Tulum hotel in time for a 5am departure. After an around 2-hour drive, arrive at Chichen Itza, Mexico’s most visited archaeological site, and make the most of your early arrival to explore the impressive ruins before the tour buses and crowds arrive.
Accompanied by an archaeologist guide, discover the fascinating history of the pre-Columbian city and learn more about the ancient Mayan civilisation. After posing for photos by the grand centrepiece – the 100-foot (30-meter) tall pyramid ‘El Castillo’ – take in highlights including the Temple of Warriors, the Great Ball Court, the Caracol, Las Monjas, and Akab Dzib.
Tuck into a packed lunch before setting out on the return journey and arrive back in Tulum around 2pm, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
Day 2: Full-day tour of Coba
Begin your day with an early-morning pickup from your central Tulum hotel in time for a 5am departure. After an around 40-minute drive, arrive at Coba, and choose to either walk or cycle (bike rental included) around the ancient Mayan ruins. Start by visiting the main pyramid, the tallest in the Yucatan Peninsula, and climb the 130 steps to the top to enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding jungle.
After exploring the rest of the ruins, visit a natural cenote – a hidden ‘sinkhole’ revered by the ancient Mayans as a sacred site – and venture underground to explore the beautiful cave and cool off with a swim.
Finally, tuck into a delicious 3-course lunch at a local restaurant before setting out on the return journey. Back in Tulum, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 2.30pm.
