If you actually want to go to the ocean you have to take a lengthy drive from the train terminus.
Need to make arrangements for transport to and from railway station.

We booked this experience due to it being highly rated and really wanted to like this. We were quite excited for the train ride but it was a big let down. When you first enter you wait in a line up for upwards of 30 minutes, our tour started at 1200 but we did not board until 1230. Then once the train goes approximately 2-3km there is a stop where you can walk up to a waterfall; this is by far the most enjoyable part of the train ride. The rest of the train ride is listening to an audio recording (that didn’t initially work) of how prisoners cut down trees while going through the forest. The staff where friendly and courteous and very pleasant to interact with. The actual train ride is a huge tourist trap and not something a young couple would enjoy. I would definitely recommend this for a family with children. The other issue is the rest of Tierra del Fuego national park is much prettier to see than where the train ride takes you

Added to the experience of the national park. Need to make arrangements for transport to and from railway station.

Worth the price (of first class)
    mommydearestcanada, Jan 2020
Ordered this prior to a cruise and then went on day we were in Port.Bought the first class option and it was fabulous! Own compartment, food provided was excellent (we chose the empanadas and they came warm). Was a lovely, relaxing ride with headphones explaning train/area both ways

Not an End of World experience
    Yvonne_D, Jan 2020
Cute little train but it DOESN’T go to the End of the World. If you actually want to go to the ocean you have to take a lengthy drive from the train terminus. Felt cheated by the false advertising, but with accurate information would have enjoyed the gentle chug around the track.

    End of the world.
    Shereen_S, Jan 2020
Well we thought we were going at the end of the world but the train only goes half way in the national park. It was a real rip off you are better off getting a taxi for half the price and actually go to the end of the world. Don’t buy train tickets just get a taxi it’s much cheaper and you see a lot more than the train.

This was ridiculous. I think the tiny train went a total of three miles into the park. Everyone was very sweet, but we could have used our time much better and really gotten to see the park. Even our 5 and 7 year old children were bored.

Skip the shuttle & take a taxi to the train station
    Shiela_H, Feb 2019
We booked a ticket which was to include hotel pickup & drop off- $90cdn Discovered the day before that no one knew what company did hotel pickup & we were told that the bus shuttle from waterfront was 300 pesos each way !! A taxi will likely be $10 USD, a way cheaper option and then you can go whenever you want. The train trip was very good & way longer than expected, 30 minutes each way as it travels slowly. We had 1st class tickets so had lunch & wine/tea along the way.

Train is a bit pricey for what it is. The line at the front to convert voucher into tickets was long. The voiceover was very good and they stop to let you climb up some stairs to a beautiful waterfall. Further away from the cruise ship pier than we expected. Turning around the train to go back took about thirty minutes. The train passes through some very nice areas with good views of the tree cemetery. Also, there were many wild horses in the area, which were very majestic looking.

There was a glitch and they had no record of my having purchased the I repurchased. The history of the train is interesting but our guide was a real bust. He seemed bored with the whole thing. I would take the city bus or taxi to the train and buy a ticket there.

This was over-rated and poor value for money! The best thing about the trip was the refreshments! We went first class and the refreshments were lovely. The train journey itself was 7 Kms long. There was nothing pretty to see out the window just barren ground and dead tree stumps! There wasn't even anything to see at the end of the line! The staff in the station were friendly and it was all very well organised but really the trip itself was a non event. We had to pay 210 pesos each because the train went into the national park and the taxis from the town to the station were very expensive 30 there and back to do a 10 mile round trip. All in all a waste of money!

Such a fun ride. You need to take a cab to the train station and return but that was about 8 each way. The train was a great ride through beautiful scenery. At end of train route I hiked to the local post office and along the coastal trail before returning to the train depot for return trip. All the staff was so helpful and friendly Highly recommend this trip if you are in Ushuaia

    Experiencia inolvidable
    GracielaNoemi_S, Oct 2022
