What You Can Expect

'Game of Thrones' Filming Locations Tour in Malta

See famous 'Game of Thrones' filming locations

Following pickup from your Malta hotel, you’ll travel by climate-controlled vehicle to an area known as the ‘three villages.’ On route, your guides — two actors who appeared in Game of Thrones — will share stories about their time on set.

Visit the Presidential Palace and stretch your legs on an amble through the King’s Landing gardens. Take a look at the Tower of the Hand, where the so-called Hand of the King resides, and have your camera ready for Maegor's Holdfast, a fortress used during the filming of the Battle of the Blackwater.

Back in the comfort of your vehicle, you’ll meander along backcountry roads to the Shadow Cliffs to gaze out over the desert-like terrain of Red Waste. After hearing tales of dragons that were born there, venture northward to an interesting hamlet better known as Lhazar village. Continue to the medieval city of Mdina to enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, your Game of Thrones tour of Mdina begins. Here, you’ll discover key locations such as the yard of Tobho Mott, the Baelish Brothel, King’s Gate and Coppersmith’s Wynd Cobbler's Square.

From Mdina, travel to Rabat and check out a monastery there — just one of the settings of the famous Red Keep fortress. You full-day tour then finishes with a hotel drop-off in the early evening.

great tour, malcolm was so knowledgeable made it very funny. the only thing if i had known that after dinner we would be going round the mountains seeing as i am a devout coward i would have opted to go back to the hotel, but 100 worth while trip, only problem is i have now got to start the series all over again so i can put all that we see in prospective, so make sure you save the box set before you go

Absolutely fantastic .The guide, a brilliant man called Malcolm. Was very entertaining. It involves a bit of walking so if you're using a cain take note. It wasn't just Game of Thrones it was nearly every movie filmed on the island. Lots to see,Well worth the money.

It was a pretty good tour as we got to see some highlights from G of T season 1. However, I felt the tour guide didn't really engage the group. The bus rides between the stops were silent. I wanted him to do some of G of T trivia or even show some G of T videos since there was a TV on board the minibus. Also, he had a lot of pictures in his little binder. I suggest he upgrades to an iPAD as I couldn't see half the pictures he was showing.
On a positive note, he was very knowledgeable about G of T and Malta in general.
