What You Can Expect

Gozo Day Trip from Malta Including Ggantija Temples

Visit the remains of prehistoric temples in Gozo on this day trip

Begin with a pickup from your Malta hotel, and then travel in a climate-controlled coach to the port. Here, board a ferry for the crossing to the pretty island of Gozo.
On arrival, travel south to Xagħra by coach, where the majestic Ġgantija Temples await you. These UNESO World Heritage–listed temples are among the oldest megalithic monuments in the world, predating even the Giza pyramids in Egypt and England’s Stonehenge.
Explore the site with your guide and hear about the temples’ history as you wander. Many research believe that this site was dedicated to the Great Earth Mother.
Continue to Dwerja Bay, where you’ll get up close to the Azure Window, a striking limestone arch that frames the Mediterranean’s warm waters. Then, journey on to Xlendi Bay, an inlet encased by cliffs, before continue to Gozo’s capital of Victoria.
In laid-back Victoria, stop for lunch and a glass of wine at a local restaurant. Then, visit the hilltop citadel, where you’ll watch a film on the island’s history.
When the time comes, return to the port and catch the ferry back to Malta. Your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.

Highly recommend this tour, including for solo travelers like myself. Well-structured itinerary and good value for money. Our guide, Oreste, was excellent - articulate, knowledgeable and interesting - and a very nice person too.

This was a perfect way to experience all of the highlights that Gozo has to offer in one day! This tour was very well organized and everything went according to schedule. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and helpful throughout the entire day

We visited all of the main highlights on Gozo including: Calypso's cave, Xlendi Bay, the Azure Window, Victoria Rabat, and the Citadel. We drove through various small towns and our guide provided history and information. We had lunch and wine at Xlendi Bay which was included in the tour price. Throughout the day we had time to walk around and visit shops. A highlight of this trip was taking a small boat ride through caves to the Azure Window 4 euro extra, do not miss this!! Overall, this was a great way to experience all of Gozo, and we would highly recommend this tour!

This was just a perfect tour. The bus picked us up at our hotel and brought us to places we wouldn't have thought to go to on our own. The insight of the tour guide was fantastic. She spoke of the lifestyle of the country, explained the balconies, brought us up to date on Maltese history, and brought us to an authentic Maltese restaurant which served all local dishes. I would recommend this tour if it is your first time in Malta.

The trip to Gozo was excellent. We saw many beautiful and interesting places on the island including Calypso's Cave, the Azure Window and the Inland Sea, the Citadel and old city in Victoria. The ferry trip went very smoothly and the lunch was really good. Jos, our guide, was great!

Independence day was not the best day to do this. The queues for the ferry were enormous . Maria was amazing organizing us and making sure that we did the whole tour . Lunch was a hurried affair but adequate. Gozo is lovely and the sites were all worth seeing.

Had an enjoyable day with fantastic guide, Jeanique, who explained along the way in German and English. We had a small group of 11 people, various nationalities. No hiccups - hotel pick up on time, straight on to ferry, same on way back. Film with history of Gozo was interesting. We paid an extra 4 euros to go on a small boat around caves, which was well worth it. All stops were good although we had no interest in stopping at the handicraft shops but were only there for 30 mins. Lunch was good, not gourmet but tasty with wine included. Would highly recommend this day trip and was very good value.

The Azure Window was well worth the boat ride. Better than the Blue Grotto. Wish we had more time there.
