Spectacular scenery -- don't forget to bring a camera AND extra money for boat rental and other add-ons.
Natalie was really good, enjoyed the tour. strongly recommend doing the Boat ride. Veg option for lunch could be better.
Be sure to contact ahead about the meeting point. If you are staying in the pedestrian zone of Valletta you may need to walk to another spot. Valletta is small, though, so the walk will not be long. Small buses pick up everyone from various places and then we join the big bug for the tour. So glad to see our Guide was Danielle Borg who had been our guide the previous day as well Gozo tour. She is excellent!!!!!!! Just the right amount of history and local culture. The English speaking buses are where Eastern Europeans, Dutch adn others who have not tours in thier own language are placed and Danielle took special pains to be sure they understood her as well--as far as the tour itself--WOW! Limstone heritage was impressive and improtant to understand the history of hte island architecture. Hagar Qim was amazing, and the visit to the much vaunted fishing village was fun--but the village wehre we had lunch was even better--and the group lunch was delicious! A rarity for large group food service. Each stop was fun, just right in length and there was never any push to buy.
The day didn't start too well when the tour company gave us the Gozo pick up time 7.45 am instead of the correct time of 9.30 am. That and being given the wrong pick up spot didnt help.
However, it all picked up from there.
The bus and crew were fab
The tour was varied and the small group meant things moved along well
The Grotto boat trip is brieff. While it was impressive not sure it's worth 16 for the two of us. However, when in Rome....or Malta...
Marsaxlokk was a nice wee port with the colourful fishing boats. Stayed there for an OK lunch.
Enjoyable day...worth doing
Paul was very informative throughout this trip. It was a pleasant small group tour, with a nice bus and good driver/tour guide. I would Definitely recommend anyone to go on this tour, its worth it! A good overview of some of the beautiful places in Malta.
Excellent and informative staff. Local Viator staff very considerate and helpful.
Well done to all at Viator.
Even though we were unable to get on the boats for Blue Grotto due to windy conditions the views were spectacular.
Excellent day spent viewing the island. The information provided by and the interaction of the tour guide was fabulous!! Highly recommended!!
Fur our first day to tour around Malta, we joined a tour group that brought us to the Blue Grotto (where we met the fisherman who caught the biggest great white shark ever! His name is Alfredo and I thought he was joking at first but when I googled him, he did catch a 23.4 ft great white on April 17. 1987 - he still had dark hair then). Needless to say, the Blue Grotto was amazing and the light blue waters are just fantastic!
We had a beautiful guide named Janic and she also brought us to the Tarxien Temple to see some ruins, and also to a cave called the Ghar Dalam. This cave was the source of many pre-historic fossils including an elephant species that got locked in the island of Malta during the melting part of the Ice Age.
In the cave, it was a bit dark and slippery in some areas, so it was no surprise when an English lady slipped and fell...but the tourist was okay and was actually with us again the next day.
During this tour, we also met a wonderful couple from Germany and they became our FB friends. We had lunch with fresh fish (included in the tour) in Marsascala, where you get to take pictures of the cove.We also enjoyed Marsaxlokk where we saw the colourful "Luzza" boats with "eyes" painted on them to protect the fishermen. This area also had many souvenir vendors and we were allowed to have some time to shop.
Probably my favourite tour we took in Malta. Excellent tour guide. Lunch was very nice, three courses included freshly caught fish. We were fortunate to have a small group on this tour. Only complaint was AC not very good in the van. Also several of the tours we took including this one, had clients who understood different languages. It got tedious for us, and I think exhausting for our guide to have to go back and forth repeating between French and English. I have been to Marsaxlokk and Blue Grotto several times before and will go back again. Very pretty and picturesque. Learned more about Malta's prehistoric background at Tarxien and Ghar Dalam.

Wonderful day, our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed the entire day!!!
Limestone Heritage was fascinating. Blue grotto was fun as the water was rather rough. Tour guide was excellent
Great tours, the boat ride was nice as well. The only problem was the meeting point to get started wasn't so clear but aside from that it was beautiful.
Great tour! The Blue Grotto is so beautiful. I would recommend paying the extra fee to do the boat ride as you get up close to all the wonderful structures and cliffs. Marsaxlokk is a quaint fishing village where we had lunch at a great restaurant. The fish was extremely tasty. We had a little too long to walk around the village but I think it was more so because of the time of year small tour and few tourists which gave us a lot of extra time. The temples and Ghar Dalam were so interesting and our guide was great about giving us very good information about all of the sites.
Johanna was a good tour guide and managed the German/English language mix of participants very well. I enjoyed the tour and the lunch.
Blue Grotto very nice.
Little fishing village had lots of pretty painted boats.
Ghar Dalam not very interesting.
Good tour. Very informative. The guide was very competent and knowledgable about the Malta's history, in general, and the history of the visited sites, so we received a good chunk of interesting Information.
This tour is a great way to cover alot of bases all in one day. The tour guide was very informative and all the sights were beautiful... Only slight criticism was the lunch, little bit of a let down, and was delayed because the restaurant wasnt organised. But definitely worth doing if you arent familiar with Malta.
could of been made more interesting, spent a lot of time on museum chats were really there was little to see. The guide worked hard but owing to the sea conditions no boat trip was possible, lunch was good part took along time for the full service.
