Begin with a pickup from your Malta hotel, and then set off by minivan with your guide — the original Game of Thrones location manager for Malta — to see the archipelago’s filming locations. It’s a unique experience that’s only available with this exclusive tour.
Head to Mdina, Malta’s exquisitely preserved medieval city, which proved an ideal backdrop for the Seven Kingdom’s capital of King’s Landing during season one of the show. Drive by several ancient forts that were used to portray the Red Keep and hear behind-the-scenes gossip about key scenes from the Game of Thrones’ earliest seasons.
Next, pause by a church in Gzira that featured as the Great Sept of Baelor, the center of worship for the Faith of the Seven. Then travel along the coast to Malta’s fortified capital city, Valletta, where you’ll see the star-shaped Fort St Elmo, which was used as Sowbelly Row.
Stop in Birgu to see the King’s Landy Skull Chamber; stand on the spot where Ned Stark confronted Cersei Lanister in the Godswood; and continue to Kalkara where you’ll visit Fort Ricasoli, which was the setting for the Red Keep’s gates.
