The gardens were breathtaking. I can honestly say that they were the highlight to my trip to Vancouver. While it did take a long time to get there, that part of it was fun too! We rode across the channel on a very large ferry that had several comfortable rooms to watch the water, as well as 2 restaurants. They even had free wifi for your computer. I would highly recommend this trip!!!
Butchart was magnificent! The getting there was a bit tedious, but understandable. Not for the jetlagged! as we were, but the gardens were so uplifiting and the driver was knowledgeable and courteous.. would do it all over again! really appreciated the pick up and drop off at the hotel!
An absolute must-do trip when visiting Vancouver and worth the time. It is helpful to make sure that you have pick-up at your hotel as you may spend some extra time on the shuttle. This is a very full day trip. STRONGLY suggest grabbing food prior to boarding the ferry for lunch and grabbing something in Victoria to eat for dinner on return to ferry/Vancouver. You will want to spend every minute at Butchart Gardens and in Victoria! Absolutely beautiful beyond words!
the gardens are beautiful. I wish that the time there could have been longer and the time in Victoria shorter. the ferry rides were great as were the bus rides. Our driver was well informed. He was not the most friendly guide I have had but was polite. He gave a lot of info very fast and at times was hard to remember exactly what to do at what time.
We loved every minute of this day tour to Vancouver Island, including the town of Victoria and the beautiful Butchart Gardens. The trip was very well organised from start to finish. Once we were on the bus, we were able to cross to Vancouver Island on the bus, which simply drives onto the ferry. This saved us so much time and trouble in that we did not have to buy ferry tickets or stand in queues. Once on the ferry, we were able to get off the bus and walk around the ferry which has a cafetaria, washrooms and boutiques.
Our first stop was Butchart Gardens, which were absolutely spectacular. It was a real treat from start to finish. The exquisite gardens, each with a different theme, Japanese, Italian, Rose Garden etc were unbelievable. One can find almost every Rose in existence in the world in their Rose garden, and everything is beautifully labelled and signposted . We had about one and a half hours to explore the gardens, which was more than enough time, and we had time to explore the beautiful boutique with souvenirs and the visitor centre. There was also time to buy a quick coffee or something to eat.
The next stop was Victoria, a lovely town on Vancouver Island with interesting art galleries, shops, restaurants and a very vibey waterfront area. We feel that we had enough time to explore, and enjoyed our visit. Had one wanted to explore the museum, one would have needed more time. But it gave one a taste, and one could easily go back there by ferry oneself and spend more time there.
Our tour guide was excellent and very helpful. He gave us an interesting commentary throughout our tour on the sights that we were seeing en route, and on the sights we were about to visit. I highly recommend this tour - it is one of the best we have done anywhere in the world!
Great tour to see both places. Our driver picked us up and dropped us to our hotel after the tour. The bus was cool and comfortable. Stayed 2 hours at the Garden and 1.5 hours in Victoria and ferry took about 1.5 hours each way. My friend said that we will save more money booking this tour than doing it ourselves so we booked it. Victoria is a beautiful place and we wish we could stay longer. I highly recommend this tour if you are fine to see the place and not stay too long. I think we had enough time to see the Garden and to take a lot of pictures in both places.
Just the best in all ways -- from the knowledgeable guide, the top notch cruise line and the awesome Butchart Garens.
They did an exceptional job, was a very nice and clean bus with a very polite and professional driver who was very informative but gave us plenty of time just to ride along and enjoy the scenery . He gave us good tips on where to sit and where to eat on the ferry boat and he was easy to understand and engage it was a perfect balance
We were not picked up at our hotel so had to drive to station and found it very difficult to find a parking spot. Enjoyed the ferry ride n beautiful scenery disappointed we could not go outside on a balcony to see The View. The Butchart Gardens were gorgeous n tour of Victoria Ok..but not long enough.
The Gardens were well worth it. Absolutely beautiful. Victoria was good to see as well
This is the second time that I've been here. And even has someone who has lived in Vancouver for 3 years, I loved it! I brought my visiting family and they couldn't get enough of it. The Bus driver/ tour guide was informative and friendly. Highly recommended!
Our tour was awesome! Gord, our driver was very knowledgeable, kind and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommend this tour!
Very enjoyable day especially enjoyed Victoria and bus driver mentioned a good restaurant for lunch that we loved called Red Fish Blue Fish. Expected gardens to be alittle more special but was worth seeing.
Excellent trip!!! Purchased most of my tours and excurssions through Viator. Viator is a very user friendly site and offered the best deals I was able to find. Thank you!
Fabulous trip. The gardens are just wonderful. Coach trip and ferry also very enjoyable. Only complaint was the time of the pick up. We were given 8.30 am and he arrived at 9.10 am we were beginning to wonder if it was going to happen.
