This was an absolute highlight of our time in Vancouver.
The pick up was perfect with the driver telling us little bits of information as we drove round to the different hotels. The wildlife was spot on although this out of the control of the tour company so think we were lucky but seeing past the company was professional and did their best to keep you updated as to what was going on with what you were seeing and also give you some history and context to the area. Overall would recommend this.
Excellent tour would highly recommend! Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. We booked the pick up bus would recommend this also! Plus we were lucky enough to see a few Whales!
From the pick up to actual boat was fantastic, saw 5 large humpback whales, good throughout again water provided and warm clothing
Enjoyed the boat ride. The guide was very informative. Best part was that i actually got to see some whales
up close. And some other animals.
Wonderful tour. Great information on the way and well conducted. Easy check-in as well.
it was very enjoyable, water was not rough at all and we saw 5 humpback whales very close to the boat, there were 4 adults and a calf. It was not that cold if dressed warmly. The shuttle from the city was very comfortable and timely. There are several pickup sites so it is easy to walk to one. If you need warm clothes you can borrow them from the company before boarding.
This tour was excellent from start to finish, the staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful and thank goodness they advised to use the oilskins for the trip which were free by the way. Our guide on board was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things about the whales and other wildlife along the way. We were fortunate to see during the trip seals, bald eagles, deer on the shoreline and finally a pod of whales so a very successful trip.
We saw 3 groups of whales!!! Very good information provided by the commentator to understand everything about the orcas!
A great tour and you will see whales. You go for a nice boat ride and will see other sea creatures. We ran late because of getting confused while driving from North Vancouver and didn't make it by the half hour before the tour but everyone was friendly and understanding. Warm rainproof outfits are provided and the boat has a toilet if needed.
Take some time afterward to walk around the area where the tour quarters are located. We enjoyed some delicious seafood, like sockeye salmon, and toured an old salmon packing factory.
Truly a lifetime highlight experience for my family! Our guides were excellent. It was a warm day and we didn't need or little rain suits that we were issued. We were comfortable, well informed, enjoyed seeing 2 families of Orcas of which our guide was very knowledgable. It was a great time! We saw so many various animals from bald eagles to harbor seals. We had a brief time to shop when we returned before our shuttle left. The driver of our shuttle was as interesting as the boat guides. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone of any age. It was a primary reason why we decided to visit Vancouver from Seattle and it was worth it!
We lived it! We got to see several whales and one got pretty close to us. I will recommend this to anyone in the area
This tour is worth every penny. If you're coming to Vancouver from Europe, do it early in your visit because it's an early start and it's much easier to do this in your first few days. The tour will almost certainly show you some Orcas and whales. We were luck enough to see a pod of Orcas feeding on a less lucky seal. Nothing gory just a bunch of Orcas swimming towards us with some purpose.
Top tip from me would be to take a camera with a good telephoto lense. You can make you phone camera work but you'd best take a real camera.
We had a great time on our tour. It was such a treat to see orcas in the wild! Within the first five minutes of leaving the harbor, one of the guides on board told us that local fisherman had spotted a pod of orcas so we would head out to see them first, then search for others if we couldn't find them. No less than ten minutes later, we approached the orcas and were able to follow them for pretty much the whole trip. We kept a safe distance, but at one point one of the orcas got curious and swam right under our boat. Unbelievable to see this creature up close!
I have been whale watching in California a few times over the past few years, but this was by far the best experience. The boat was on the small side so it felt more intimate/personal than other tours. Our guide took the time to walk around and talk to the passengers to keep us in the loop as to what was happening and to educate us on these beautiful creatures. We lucked out big time. Highly recommend.
Great whale watching! Lots of time spent with an orca whale family. Tour guide did an excellent job pointing out all the wildlife and providing information on whale behavior.
We saw lots of whales in their natural environment. The right way to see whales! So much better than Sea World or Marine Land.
I appreciated the guide on board who was able to tell us about the family and how old the whales were. You could tell the staff genuinely cared about the whales. An excellent tour!
If I were to do it again I would spend less time trying to get that perfect picture and instead just enjoy seeing them without a lens over my face. Unless you are a professional wild life photographer you will have troubles getting a clear shot that is not obstructed by another person or by the fact that the whales are moving so fast. Besides, there are lots of beautiful pictures available from the gift shop available for purchase, which is what I ended up doing.
saw and followed a pod of whales with a baby orca - soooooo cool! Our guide Ellen was awesome!
After some booking problems with Viator which the tour provider kindly sorted, we had an amazing time - the team were so friendly and knowledgable and we were lucky enough to see a pod of killer whales, as well as sea lions and porpoises. Fantastic day!
Great afternoon, saw 3 pods of killer whales. Our guide was able to identify particular whales. She also pointed out other wildlife such as bald eagles who were sat on the rocks we were passing.
