Departure Time

8:30 AM

Enjoy a thrilling introduction to island culture as you meet the locals and watch an impressive display of traditional dancing and fire walking. Continue to Eton Village, where you gain a greater inside into local life and perhaps get a chance to visit the village primary school (depending on opening times). After strolling around the village, relax on the white sands of Eton Beach, or dive in to cool off with a swim in the Blue Lagoon.

Pass through Pangpang, stopping to admire the gigantic ancient banyan trees, before arriving at Takara Lodge in time for lunch. Tuck into a delicious Melanesian style buffet lunch as you listen to live music from a local band.

In the afternoon, learn more about the island’s history as you visit some of the island’s World War II sites, then take in the views from Gideon’s Landing. Finally, pay a visit to the Survivor Beach, so-called as it was the filming location for the 'Survivor Vanuatu - Islands of Fire' TV series. Here, you have a chance to swim, snorkel, and enjoy afternoon tea.

After an action-packed day exploring Vanuatu, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel or cruise port.

Great fun day to see Port Vila

We recommend this tour completely if you want to go around Efate to see a local village, blue lagoon and some beautiful beaches. Our tour guides, Dimitri and Lisa, were very entertaining and accommodating. Dimitri showed us a few extra places too! The lunch was delicious. It was very nice to be able to try some local dishes. It was a very relaxing day for us with stunning views at all stops.

Great cultural experince

Such a good way to see how the local people live as the tour would drive us around the island. We got to visit the kindergarten where we gave the kids some toys and class materials like notebooks, pencils, etc. The visit to village was also good, knowledgeable tour guide and fire walking performance, the little kids got to be part of the dancing show too. Then we had a nice stop at the blue lagoon for swimming and refreshment (fresh fruits) after that we went to the beachside restaurant for lunch (it was sooo yummy!) there was a small group of local musicians performing whilst we were eating so we gave them some tips. The tour ended with the last stop for afternoon Tanna coffee break by the beach then we headed back to our hotel. Pleasant time overall :)

Good tour with great tour guides George and Manu. The smaller buses are not overly comfortable for those with long legs. More than enough time at each stop, Highlight was the children at the kindergarten, make sure you take something to donate (books, pens, football), their eyes just light up. Got back in time for some souvenir shopping before getting back on the cruise.

This was a long, very complete tour of the island that included the spectacularly beautiful blue lagoon wear or bring a swimsuit...there are changing rooms and perhaps swim shoes since the path to the lagoon is rocky. We had a fascinating tour through a native cultural village which featured a fire walk and demonstrations of how people lived centuries ago. A family-style Vanuatuan lunch was provided at a scenic beach and we saw where the US Air Force base was located during WW II. Altogether a wonderful day with one negative and the reason for four stars: the van we rode in was very old and had minimal a/c on a very hot day although our driver did a good job and our guide, Justin, was extremely knowledgeable.

Yves and I absolutely loved our private tour around the whole island! Everyone on the ship whom booked via Royal Caribbean paid more and went in mini buses, we had our own vehicle driven by the absolutely awesome Moses and Julie who are each both amazing and showed as so many amazing sights!

Friendly, happy and informative guideJustin and an equally happy driver in Moses. The 2 highlights of the day were the visit to the village with info on how they live eat and survive cyclones along with a fantastic display of fire walking. The visit to the blue lagoon was outstanding as was the fruit supplied for morning tea. The rest of the tour could easily be missed, the van was in very poor condition however the air con was faultless, the roads are difficult to negotiate due to constant wash outs, so dont be in a hurry. Lunch was worth missing not at all what we expected and not at any resort just a road side shack. our guide was under the impresion that our ship departed 30 min later than what we told him, and he did not seem to listen so we were 10 min late back to the shipnot a great feeling.to sum up , nice people trying to make a living but should only offer a tour that can be completed on time and not try and fill in with unneccassary stops of little interest and that have little resemblence to the advertised product.

Excellent tour guide and tour. Great understanding of Vanuatu culture and history by end of the tour. Blue lagoon, lunch, and village tour with fire walking were all highlights of this excursion. Patiste, our tour guide, was AWESOME!! Only suggestion is to have a Viator flag or placard that identifies tour guide at the port.
