Doge's and the Basilica were great, the skip the line worked well. However I must rate the tour low as the guide kept going forward and leaving half the tour! We never heard anything about the bridge of sighs as he never got the group together before going that way . I was extremely disappointed about that. There were 8 of us all without a guide and had to find him!! It was very frustrating .I tried to contact Viator to voice my concern before rating this which was even worse! There contact me has no way to message them. When I tried to pull up the booking from yesterday it said it didn't exist. Sorry but due to a poor guide that didn't keep his group together I can't rate this as a good your .
The tour was fine. However one of our party has trouble climbing huge numbers of stairs and so was stressed. Viator needs much specificity (like the cruise lines do on their tours) about difficulty walking, distance walking and if there are a large number of stairs.
Super knowledgeable and expertly guided tour - quite literally. Great humor, really well executed. Couldn't ask for much more given the chaos in peak season. Really REALLY worth the money and the small groups. Do NOT try to do these sites without a tour like this!
Everything operated on schedule. I don't remember the guides name, but she was extremely knowledgeable, and explained everything in detail. Her English was perfect, which made the experience even easier. The tour was 2 hours but moved very fast. She waited for groups to pass so she could pay more attention to her delivery. I took this tour ten years ago, and this time learned so much more.
The tour was a bit chaotic at the start, with a number of tours in different languages all gathering together before being separated.
A long wait to get into the Palace, so not sure about 'skip the line'. Once the tour was under way our guide Sylvia was very good.
Great! our tour guide Ros, was very informative and well-schooled in the history of Venice and it was so cool to learn about the old political and social structures of the old times. The tour was well timed and comfortable walking pace that did not felt rushed or crazy. Skip the line is always a must at major attractions and this is one of them!
To be honest, we didn't do the Basilica tour. It was so incredibly cold snow in the forecast, windchill dropping the temp down to 15 degrees or so that we couldn't make it past the Doge's Palace--with no insulation or heat, it was a very cold tour. Overall the tour itself was fine but 'Skip the Line' still means you have another line to wait in. That's fine, I understand since it's for metal detectors. However there was no organization to the lines and a group of school students trying to jump in front of us physically barred my way and tried to block me from getting to my group. The groups were very large as well so staying together was difficult. The guide was knowledgeable however and did what she could to keep everyone together.
