What You Can Expect

Hidden Venice Walking Tour by Night

Experience the tucked-away gems of Venice on an evening walking tour

Discover a different side of Venice as the romantic hues of dusk fade into the lamp-lit mystery of the night. Meet your local guide near St Mark’s Square, and then escape the crowds and the typical tourist track as you walk along narrow canals and through hidden piazzas. Along the way, listen to stories of legendary Venetian characters and historical anecdotes about the neighborhoods you visit.

Admire the unique architecture and statuary of Campo San Giovanni e Paolo, including an impressive statue designed by Andrea del Verrocchio, the mentor of Leonardo da Vinci. Visit the narrow marble Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, which was beautifully restored to its original splendor, and stop at the former home of famed Venetian explorer Marco Polo. See the impressive spiral staircase at Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, and hear tales of the famed European maestros who performed at the Teatro la Fenice opera house.

Cross the iconic Rialto Bridge and learn about the merchants and trade patterns that made this area a bustling commercial hub during the city’s days as a maritime superpower. Take in romantic views of the city lights reflected in the Grand Canal before concluding your 2-hour tour back near St Mark’s Square.

David was awesome!! He was full of interesting facts spanning several topics architecture, Marco Polo, dispelling Venice myths, etc.. He loved questions and made sure to involve everybody in the group. We loved that it was a smaller group and much more intimate than other tours.

Davide was a very knowledgeable and entertaining host. This tour is filled with history, folklore and interesting infomation about the city of Venice that you would not learn on most other tours. Nighttime allowed for easy movement within the city and a different perspective of Venice. Try it out.

4 star rating: Recommended October 2016

we had a great time on this tour. The guide was a local so very knowledgeable on a whole range of issues. we were probably a bit too jetlagged to really get he most out of it perhaps doing a night tour the day after flying in is a bit ambitious but would recommend the tour to anyone keen to see and hear a different side of venice

Good guide with some interesting information. A little of which had already been dealt with on previous tours.
Small group of four enabled us to interact well with the guide and ask our own questions. We went off the beaten track to some interesting sites.
