This was a wonderful evening provided by some excellent musicians. The venue was beautiful and the music was varied and captivating. We loved every minute of it and wished that it could have gone on and on. John R.
We enjoyed it very much, their interpretation of Vivaldi's Four Seasons was fantastic. The acoustic and environment of the San Vidal Church was wonderful.
We stayed at Hotel San Marco and we walked to this beautiful church where the concert was held despite the rain and some flooding. I imagine that people will not sign up for this unless they are interested in classical music. It was definitely an enjoyable concert.
Our last stop of the night was a classical concert Interpreti Veneziani at San Vidal, a church converted to concert hall. We came dressed pretty casual my bad and I heard about it from the girls, as we got an askance look or two from the other concert goers who clearly understood the unique nature of this event. We sat in the back. The music was Vivaldi native son of Venice. It was so magnificent violins, violas and cellos, almost indescribable from the historic venue to the amazing musicians. Our teenage daughters talked about skipping the concert all day and wanted to just go home but alas the tickets had been purchased. Needless to say, they loved it! Words can hardly describe what we experienced. It was reminiscent of Sainte Chapelle in Paris and the concert we attended there:
The performance and the venue were incredible. Very powerful. The musicians were excellent. Not to be missed.
Be sure to get there at least a half hour before the performance to be assured a good seat.
The artists were in rare form and we were so pleased to have this be our first welcome to Venice. The church is beautiful but I must warn you... It only has two toilettes. The line starts as soon as the doors open and they cut it off and lock the doors a few mins before the show starts. Then it's 45 mins to intermission when the line forms even bigger this time they do cut it off again after about 10 mins and then you are waiting till the shows over. Come prepared.
Absolutely amazing. The location of San Vidal church was beautiful and atmospheric. The performances were amazing. Nothing like listening to live Vivaldi.

My wife and I attended this concert at 8:30 PM on Sunday, October 8, at Chiesa San Vidal which is not too far from the Rialto Bridge. The concert lasted about 90 minutes with a short intermission half way through. The music of Vivaldi was played by the members of the ensemble Interpreti Veneziani and was most enjoyable. Would definitely recommend attendance at a concert by the group if you enjoy classical music.
A welcome respite from the constant motion of travel and touring. Where else would one want to hear Vivaldi but in his home city? The musicians were professional and first rate. The venue, San Vital, was beautiful.
Don't use the water bus directions provided. Get off at the Academia and it's a 1 block walk. It's in a beautiful church, that's worth seeing, even without the concert. The concert was fabulous....the cellist was directing the ensemble as he played and his remarkable passion for the music was mesmerizing...watching all of them play was as important as hearing them. Loved that you could record them...just no flash. A wonderful evening.
Truly an amazing experience. Highly recommend! Beautiful music, beautiful architecture! A great evening.
Excellent - well worth the money for this unique experience.
Fabulous evening. Wonderful musicians, excellent acoustics and beautiful setting!!!
Beautiful church and wonderful concert! Perfect way to end a Friday summer evening. Musicians were so talented and especially loved the passion of the cellist. Only downside was it was hot and humid with not much ventilation in the church. Would not let this deter and would love to attend another performance.
I didn't expect to experience such an emotional response but I did. The church and setting were beautiful but the musicians were the real creators of the experience. The audience gave three standing ovations at the end of the concert we never wanted the evening to end.
Venice was a magical city....purely magical, even in the heart of the summer and the tourist season. We walked, and walked, and walked, taking in all the particular sights we were most interested in, and enjoying those long lunches, hanging out in squares, people watching, enjoying the food.
In particular, I would like to point to Interpreti Veneziani, if they are playing, as a most special and extraordinary experience. We saw them in Paris once and snapped up tickets once we found out they'd be playing in Venice. It was an amazing evening of watching and listening to maters playing Vivaldi, Rossini, and Mozart. As soon as I had decided that one of them was the best, someone else took central stage and gave the performance of HIS life! It was magnifico.
Another very cool thing we did was to attend an opera in a Palazzo, where we went from room to room with each act. It was one of the most intimate musical experiences I have ever had, as the opera stars were signing and acting right next to us. We got to hear La Traviata, and it was excellent. The rooms were small, so they didn't have a huge audience -- maybe 30 or 35 of us, and it was one of the most unique experiences my husband and I have ever had.
We also took an 8 hour tour to the Dolomites, with Viator. There were 8 of us in this minivan, with Marco, an EXCELLENT tour guide. We had such much fun, and totally go into the heart of the Italian Alps. It was not seeing them from afar, but being right smack in the middle of them, going up to one of the highest peaks and looking down. Fantastic.
Viator also set us up with Interpreti Veneziani. I would recommend them any time.
I arrived in Venice in the afternoon and needed something to do for the evening. I came across this event and was very excited to see it. I booked it, and I'm glad I did. The concert was performed in a very lovely church, now a concert hall and a music museum. The show was absolutely packed, very popular event. The performance was nothing short of phenomenal. I haven't see such talent and passion in playing in ages, it was truly mind blowing. I very strongly recommend this one even if you really aren't a huge fan of this era musical style.
Music was fantastic. Church was absolutely beautiful. We really loved this experience.
An amazing experience in wonderful surroundings, the performance was outstanding. One of the highlight of our visit to Venice.
