One of the best tours we did. Great experience, great food, our tour guide was Lucia who was the best tour guide we had across all tours in Italy. If you can get her you are in for a treat.
Alessandra is absolutely fantastic! This was my second year in a row having Alessandra as a tour guide, and the third tour with her. She does a great mixture of historic, social and food information. Hopefully we will be able to go back next year and book another tour with her.

This was the highlight of our trip to Venice! Our guide, Nico, was AMAZING, and he does private tours. Our small, intimate group of 6 Nico visited several different locals-only bars and restaurants only the first one was a Kosher place in the Jewish Ghetto, ate delicious food, learned a ton of history that we'd not have learned anyplace else. Highly recommended we would definitely do this again.
Went on this tour while in Venice over Christmas holiday and was so happy we did, Alesandra was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable about the Jewish Ghetto we learned so much history and had some very amazing food good assortment of stops along the way, my husband even went back the next night to find the bakery for the cookies. The wine was very good at the stops and we purchased while there never felt rushed at any restaurant/bar we went too. Take tour if in the area fantastic

This was a fabulous food tour with the highlights of the Jewish Ghetto and the neighborhood around it. We did go back to the Ghetto to see the museum and Holocaust Memorial. Our guide spoke English beautifully and was a proud, knowledgeable Venetian. She was able to answer many questions and tell us more about life in Venice. She seemed truly interested in sharing her city with us. The food choices were great. We tried some great dishes and the tour accommodated our food issues with ease. No problem with no meat request or no mango, as well as no pork. The wines were all different and unique and portions for everything were generous with the option of more. The walking part was an easy walk. We were a small group of 10 and it was a perfect size to enjoy it all. Nice fellow tourists. This is not a Kosher tour and we did it on a Friday night which meant the strictly kosher stops were rushing to close so we had some cookies first no complaints about that. Definitely recommend this tour.
This tour exceeded all expectations - an extraordinary trip into the culture, history and food of the oldest Jewish Ghetto. I can't imagine being more thoroughly entertained. Veronica, of Raphael Tours and Events, was awesome. Her knowledge of the incredible history was matched perfectly by the choice of restaurants, all serving a very typical Cannaregio meal. The history of the Jews of Venice was one of spellbinding facts and heartbreaks. In the original Ghetto, the island, they were locked in at night with only the doctors allowed to leave. Being a doctor was one of the few professions/jobs open to Jews. The original Ghetto, the island, was a self-contained community of thousands. Besides doctors, their careers were limited to money lenders and jewelers. Synagogues could be recognized by a cluster of 5 windows and were plain on the outside to not be recognizable. The Ghetto was enlarged twice. In World War II 289 Jews were sent to the camps and only 8 returned. Cobblestones in brass/gold color with the names of the murdered are in evidence outside their former homes to commemorate each. Fascinating to see. We went to 5 restaurants and experienced a wide selection of food typical of the area. This included fresh fish, local cheese, squid ink-colored pasta, risotto, eggplant parmigiana. Drinks included Sur Lies Prosecco, local Raboso a grape wine and there were plenty of desserts and gelato. What a fabulous time we had. And we heeded their advice by coming on the tour hungry! You'd better, too. Absolutely worth it...100.
