Venice is famous for its UNESCO-listed lagoon, but the city’s islands are also renowned for their handicrafts. This 5-hour cruise by private boat stops at Murano Island to watch a thrilling glass-blowing demonstration and Burano Island to visit a lace-making factory.
  • 5-hour cruise to Murano Island and Burano Island
  • Admire views of San Giorgio, Certosa, and Sant Erasmo islands as you cruise around the Venice Lagoon
  • Learn how Murano glass is made during a glass-blowing demonstration
  • Visit a lace-making factory on Burano Island
  • Private transport ensures a personalised experience
Meet your private guide in San Marco Square in time for a 9.30am departure and head to the pier to board your private boat. Set sail around the UNESCO-listed Venice Lagoon and admire the views as you glide past San Giorgio island, Certosa island, and Sant Erasmo island.

Arrive at Murano Island and jump off for a walking tour of the tranquil island, pausing to admire the 12th-century Church of Santi Maria e Donato. Then, discover the island’s claim to fame – Murano glass – as you visit a glass factory, enjoy a traditional glass-blowing demonstration, and perhaps purchase some exquisite hand-made souvenirs.

Back on the boat, it’s a short cruise to Burano Island, where the multi-colored houses and picturesque fishing port make for some striking photo opportunities. After taking in the scenery, pay a visit to a lace factory to discover the island’s rich lace-making heritage.

After returning to the mainland, your tour ends back in San Marco Square.

This tour was terrible. The tour guide was unhappy, angry and anxious during the whole tour. She was on her mobile most the time and looking stressed. The Murano Island was not enjoyable. We spent the whole time in a shop after seeing a 5 minute presentation and the rest of the time walking in the shop that was overpriced. We were not allow to walk in the island or shop anywhere else. Then, we went to Burano Island and also we were taken into a shop to watch a 2 minute presentation of how to do lace and they they try to sell us table cloth and other things that were very expensive. In this island we had a bit of tme to walk around by ourselves and this was the best part. The tour guide did not provide any information about anything. We regreted to be in this tour as we could have got a taxi to both islands and spend as much time as we wanted. The worst excursion of the 20 tours we booked during out Italy trip.

We took this tour on 7/11/18. It was such a relaxing day! Murano and Burano are beautiful! Highly recommend this tour!

The Murano island part of this tour was good, the glass demonstration was the best part. The guide and boat were good

The houses on Burano island are worth seeing but we were led into a lace shop. A very disappointing 5mins demonstration. They then proceeded to try and sell different types of lace.

Our guide was amazing and we loved visiting both islands. Having the small boat 30 footer to ride to each of the islands made it feel personable. The glass factory was amazing with what they could do/make. We loved this tour and would take it again. Worth every penny

This is both, an informative and relaxing trip. The 'glass experience' on Murano was very interesting and there is also time to explore both islands with a most impressive church on Murano. The islands aside - there are plenty of insights into life in Venice and beyond. Time and money well spent!

To start the tour, we had to meet the guide near San Marco. She had no sign or any indication that she was the guide but we stood near a group that turned out to be the Viator group. It was hard to follow her without a flag or sign like the other guides had she replied it was not necessary although there were more than 20 of us. I didn't really consider this a small group. The boat ride to Murano and then Burano was fine as was the glass-blowing demonstration in Murano. There are no group activities in Burano, just free time for lunch or shopping. I thought we were going to see a lace factory or making demonstration.

We really enjoyed the boat ride and glass-making at Burano. Murano was beautiful as well and we had a very nice lunch there. Wish we had a bit more time in Murano to explore the island...

Our guide was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. This was a good tour for seeing the glass blowing and lace making up close.

We met our guide near St. Mark's Square in Venice. She collected the group together and rode by boat to Murano island. We entered a small glass factory and had a very good demonstration of item manufacturing. There were many different kinds of glass items there for sale. We had a brief tour of Murano and saw the seventh-century Church of Santa Maria e San Donato. We took the boat to Burano where we went to a small lace store. We saw a demonstration of lace making and had an opportunity to purchase different kinds of lace including table cloths and napkins, table runners, etc. After some free time we boarded the boat and returned to St. Mark's Square. It was a very good tour.
