Arrive at Murano Island and jump off for a walking tour of the tranquil island, pausing to admire the 12th-century Church of Santi Maria e Donato. Back on the boat, it’s a short cruise to Burano Island, where the multi-colored houses and picturesque fishing port make for some striking photo opportunities. After taking in the scenery, pay a visit to a lace factory to discover the island’s rich lace-making heritage.

Traveler Tips

The guide was very knowledgeable, the tour allowed also “free time” to hang around.
This was the tour i found that was a littel more expensive then te other ones but was a private tour, and it was super worht it.
There were other tours for more and I wasn’t sure this would be good, but it was great.

Great side trip from Venice!!
Robin_B, Aug 2022
We had a great time on our visit to Murano and Burano!! Our tour guide pointed out sites along the way, we got to see a glass blowing demonstration in Murano, and enjoyed the beautifully colored houses in Burano-Then we had music and champagne on the ride back! Such fun!
Had a great experience...

Had a great experience with our knowledgeable guide, the sights, and of course the glass blowing demo and talking to the family of lace crafters, and of course the opportunity to bring back some souvenirs!

Brilliant tour and lovely tour guide!
sophfairbrother, Sep 2022
This is a great tour if you want to visit Murano and Burano with time to spend on your own. It was amazing to see a glass master at work in Murano and see all the beautiful coloured houses in Burano and the tour guide had lots of interesting facts to say
Tour has potential

This tour has a lot of potential. The glass making demo in Murano is awesome. The stop in Burano is also very nice. The issue with this tour was the guide. She left two people behind in Venice. On the boat she admitted that she had done this also the week before in Murano and Burano. She didn't seem interested in answering any questions and acted put off when she was asked for recommendations. She was not engaged at all.
Great small group tour!

We really enjoyed the demonstration at the glass factory. The artist blew a glass vase as well as made two sculptures, so we learned about two different techniques. The gentleman doing the explanation was very good. Alexandro, our guide, was very informative. We also enjoyed the colorful island of Burano and it’s quietness.

A great way to explore the Venetian Islands!
Ann_T, Aug 2022
We LOVED our host and boat driver! The music and drinks on the ride back was amazing :) Time on Burano island was wonderful. More time on Murano would have been nice.
Great afternoon.

Great tour guide and captain of the boat. Both very friendly, informative and helpful. Morano glass demonstration and shop amazing and Borano also lovely.
Not what I was hoping for
Jacqueline_B, Sep 2022
Burano is a nice little island, but the lace making demonstration was actually a very small part of the time there. Mostly it seemed like a shopping expedition, which is not why I booked the trip. Two hours was way too long on Burano. I would have preferred some time to explore Murano. Instead we were only able to see the glass factory and the shop. Having the 20% discount at the shop was the best part of the trip for me.
Much better ways to spend 4 hours
Carolyn_B, Sep 2022
The guide was very very nice. The stop in Murano was disappointing. The 10 minute glass making demonstration was interesting to watch but we couldn’t hear what the guy was saying at all. Then we were brought into their beautiful but very expensive showroom. There was no other shopping at all or other places to go. Then over to Burano. A cute little town. The lace making demo was in a small store, was interesting but only lasted about 5 minutes. At least on this island there were a few stores and restaurants however we were on the afternoon tour and they all started closing up on us. The glass of Prosecco on the way back was a nice treat. All in all not worth 4 hours of our time. Would have been better to just take the water bus over if you want to see it that badly.
Wonderful!!!

It was a wonderful experience our guide was very knowledgeable highly recommend. We were able to meet several artists and were able purchase a piece from one artist we were able to spend some time with.
Excellent trip
Sofiya_M, Aug 2022
Great tour with amazing guide Alexandro. He totally made the trip! Burano is beautiful island and not to be missed on a trip to Venice. On Murano we had a glass blowing demonstration which was great! Highly recommended
Beautiful islands I would’ve liked to have seen a true demonstration of lacing
Sheila_R, Aug 2022
Our visit to the glass blowing company was amazing the visit to the Leasing island I was a little disappointed the island was beautiful and the women was pleasant but I had expected a demonstration of how they do the leasing Would’ve like to have spent more time on the glass island Alex our guide was excellent.
Factual and loads of fun
Marilyn_C, Aug 2022
The tour guide was excellent. He had a command of the history of the islands of Berano and Merano as well as Venice itself. Easy to talk to answered all the questions.
Fantastic experience!
Emily_D, Sep 2022
Amazing experience hearing about the history of the islands and taking a glimpse into the lives of locals who still keep many Venetian traditions alive! Our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and thoroughly engaged. 100% recommend this tour!
History, glass, colour and bubbles

Really enjoyed our afternoon. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. She explained the history of glass making in Venice and Murano, lace making on Burano and of other areas in the lagoon. The private transfer was comfortable and the glass of Prosecco on the return journey a welcome aperitivo. Felt like very good value. An excellent experience. Thank you!
Great tour!

We had a wonderful trip to murano & burano. The guide was very informative and our older children learnt a lot whilst being on the boat and listening to katti, our guide. The people in the murano glass workshop were nice and the glass maker (sergio) had a picture with our children. He is so talented!
Informative, interesting, and well organized
Alison_M, Aug 2022
Excellent tour! To break it down: Half an hour of boat ride to Murano, during which we learned many intetesting things about the surrounding islands and Venice. An hour on Murano, including the indescribably impressive glass-blowing/making demonstration and time to explore the showroom and gift shop. Another half hour of informative boat ride and some Prosecco, and then an hour and a half to explore the brightly colored shops of Burano before a 45-minute return trip. There were many wonderful things to buy and eat on Burano; I can't personally speak to the cultural sites. Everything was organized, on schedule, and informative. Thank you for a great afternoon!
Beautiful!
Cyndy_S, Sep 2022
Watching the lacemaker in person. Seeing the actual living areas and houses in Burano. We did not have enough time to really shop in Murano.
Magnificent Murano & Beautiful Burano
Andrew_P, Sep 2022
A great half day trip with a friendly and informative guide. The trip out to Murano was in a small boat with around 25 people and the glass making demonstration was truly up close and personal and totally mesmerising. The showroom full of amazing glassware was too good to resist! Burano was equally enjoyable with a nice mix of informative guide information and a decent amount of time to wander, take photos and have some lunch. The leisurely trip back to Venice allowed us to see more of this fascinating city from the water and provided a unique opportunity to take photos of Venice as we returned. A great - and really good value - half day trip.
A fun way to escape the hustle and bustle of the Venice.
Uri_L, Aug 2022
A great solution to escape the hustle and bustle of Venice for a few hours and experience another angle of Venetian life. The Murano visit is really just a quick step into a glass blowing workshop and then a long stroll through a gigantic showroom with really impressive glasswork and capable sales-staff. Basically, an upper scale version of 'exit through the gift shop' but I didn't find the team there overly aggressive, and they were respective of our time. The trip to Burano is a bit longer than I would have liked, but ultimately it was very much worth it. A very lovely and laid-back island and the 60+ minutes we had there was just the right amount of time to get a taste of the island (literally - drinks, gelato, cookies)... Overall, I recommend the tour. The operator for the tour was capable, informative, friendly and the value for money was definitely there.
