Excellent experience. Its a shorter version that is performed about 1:45.
Never attended an Opera before so first time experience was amazing.
This took a bit of finding on the web as well as a tad hard to find in Venice-- I recommend finding the Palace in the light then going for the evenings performance. Yes, there is a sign but it is not obvious. All of that said, it was an intimate, relaxed and innovative operatic performance. The performance is held in a private home and both the actors and audience move to new vantage points and rooms with each act. Each night it is a different Opera. We saw Rialotto. The intensity of performance was exhilarating. For a couple in our group this was their first opera. They were overwhelmed. Opera now stands a a new performance art for them. I believe this was one of the highlights of our vacation
This is a must do tour! Alessandro was so informative, funny and passionate about her work. From the kosher food we had at Gam Gam, the wine and chichetti, homemade pasta and gelato was excellent. Do not eat before! I learned so much on this tour. It felt like a night out with friends. Bravo!
A most unusual set up in the impressive Palace venue. The Acts moved from room to room with the audience. Very close and intimate performance in amongst the small audience of around 70 people. Very polished performance and one we shall never forget.
very different experience. fantastic voices in an atmospheric palazzo!
WOW! Is there any better way to experience an opera than this?!! My wife's ears had not released the pressure from flying into Marco Polo airport and we were worried she wouldn't be able to hear well enough. HA! The performers are often so close that you could reach right out and touch them, hearing was no problem and these performers are worth hearing! One huge recommendation that I need to share with my fellow Viator travelers is to be sure to read online the story of the opera you are about to experience to help bring it to life with understanding. Also, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to find the location as it is not obvious: a sign on a building in the open square just as you are coming over a bridge does point the correct direction...keep walking toward the Grand Canal and there will be an alley-way to your right that leads to the door to the house. Authentic, personal Venetian setting with extremely talented performers make this tour is an absolute must when in Venice!
A wonderful experience, not to be forgotten. Stunning house on the Grand Canal high painted ceilings, silk lined walls, candlelight created a fabulous atmosphere along with beautiful singing and orchestra who were all outstanding Everything ran like clockwork. Highly recommend this trip.
Really enjoyed this! the performers were outstanding, the Plazzo was beautiful and moving from room to room between acts was a nice touch. I highly recommend this!
Absolutely superb evening! Intimate and beautiful setting with exquisite musicians. One of the best and most enjoyable evenings we have had in a very long time. Whether you are an opera buff or novice, you will be wonderfully entertained!
We had read the venue was hard to find so took some time the day before to find it. Actually, with a decent map, it wasn't all that hard to find. It might be hard in the dark if you hadn't researched it first. The performance was terrific!
We absolutely loved it...It was incredible to be so close to the performers. The piano player was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the whole performance. The show is a must for anyone who loves music and opera.
This was an absolutely fantastic experience and I highly recommend it. The actors are literally RIGHT THERE in front of you and it is so much fun being so involved in the show. One note...it is not a well marked location as it is a private residence. Ask your hotel or other tourist info spot and know that there is only one yellow sign pointing down the alley, until the doors open it is very unclear where to go. But it is 100 worth the trouble of finding!
What a fun show and a great experience, loved seeing the Barber of Seville performed in this way. It was absolutely delightful!
We saw La Traviata and it was a wonderful evening.... Beautifully performed....Well worth a visit if you go to Venice!
This is an usual experience of opera. First of all La Traviata is one of Verdis best known operas, indeed one of the worlds most popular operas, and particularly significant for Venice where it premiered. However, this performance is not in the great Teatro La Fenice but in a hard to find location in a canal side mansion. Between each of the three acts there is a short intermission during which the audience moves to a different room for each act. The setting is intimate with the performers moving among the audience, often right beside you, and it provides a whole new perspective on the power of operatic singers.
Unfortunately...Viator only has a five star rating system otherwise, we would rate this 100 stars!! I booked this event for my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary both the same day-June 4th and did not tell him. While both of us enjoy classical music, I wouldn't say that we are opera fans. We walked up the stairs to the main hall where the opera would begin and suddenly were transported in time and place, part of the actual play!!! How amazing it was...we kept looking back at each other throughout the opera in awe!!! For almost three hours...what can I say???FANTASTIC!!!
As we left the opera we both said that when we return to Venice next year 2017 we WILL be taking in another opera at Musica a Palazzo.
Suggestion:if you have the time during the day, go and find the building. Take the vaporetto to S. Maria d. Giglio and once you get off the landing take the very narrow lanestreet straight up which places you in a small Campo go to the left and over the small bridge. You will walk along the narrow side of the building till you come to a sign that statesPrivate no entry. Here you will see a very narrow laneway that has no exit to it...at the end of it is a door with the Musica a Palazzo signage. A little awkward to get to but if you scope it out earlier in day it helps...plus there are some cute shops around the area to get lost in!!!
Don't miss this amazing opportunity, you truly won't regret it.!!!!

This evening was awsome ! Fantastic night great performers
We would highly recommend
The mini orchestra was absolutely fantastic , the pianist fantastic to watch
We moved from room to room and would go again
so good! i went as a solo traveler which was great to pick up good spare seats at the front all the time, truly beautiful show! Building in good condition unlike some venues in venice, they obviously keep it in great condition without the noticeably tacky repairs in the other concert venues i visited.
The show was brill, singers interacted with audience and not too many people in the room for it to loose intamacy, nice refreshments part way through that i didn't expect, a nice touch. Yes it cost more than some things, but worth it.
This was a beautiful and awesome performance. It lasted about 2 hours with 2 ten minute breaks. The story was clear and it was not boring. The music was to die for if you enjoy opera. We even got tp drink Prosecco and the fun part is that you move to 3 different rooms. Be prepared to dress light. It can get warm because it is a very old home.
