Our guide was amazing. She was so knowledgable and so patient with a few unruly tourists in our group. If you aren't spending a lot of time in Venice, do this tour.
A full day with a break for lunch - it is cultural overload at it's best. But - if your time is limited this will give you an incredible overview of the city and the parts you might want to re-visit. Our guide was amazingly well versed with the city, it's history and current event things that are on-going. Highly recommended.
Sabrina was our tour guide, and she was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the sites, the history, and the current state of affairs with regards to Venice. The tour was relaxed and offered time to ask questions and enjoy this beautiful city. It is a long day with lots of walking, but I felt like I received a good understanding and exploration of Venice.
Great tour. Covered everything you would want to see in Venice. Our guide also shared local information you wouldn't think to
We had a tour today in Venice and had a fabulous time! Susan was very knowledgeable and easy to understand and attentive to all of us in the group the entire time. If I ever get back to Venice I will be looking her up!
Matteo was the single best guideIve ever had in Europe deeply knowledgeable, passioinate but I wth a sense of humor! about his city, he sets a fast pace for a group that was really not small....he was also professionally considerate of me, with some mobility and old age! issues.
If I could be guaranteed id Get Matteo again, Id never book anywhere else! Bravo hes a star. So ISS Victor subject to more vetting with additional tours.. thanks
The tour was amazing! We had the opportunity of walking through the small Venice's streets, to see the most important buildings. Special thanks for our guide, Paola, who's valuable explanations made our tour very interesting.
This is a great tour and comes in two parts. Our guide Sabina was very knowledgeable and passionate about Venice. Part one of the tour was a three hour walking tour which concluded with ride in a Gondola. We started at the Rialto fish markets and then walked through various areas to see the most wonderful buildings including grand churches, bridges and local neighbourhoods which all helped to reveal the development of Venice and its rich history.
After a much needed lunch break we then met again in San Marco Square for part two of the tour. Sabina guided us around the square and then took us on a wonderful tour of the Basilica San Marco with skip the line access. Both outside and inside we were again given Sabinas expert knowledge of the building and she highlighted many things you would not see or appreciate their significance without her in-depth understanding. The Basilica San Marco is magnificent.
Following the Basilica we went to the Doges Palace. Again skipping the long lines Sabina took us on a tour of the building and provided a fascinating insight into the role of the Doges in terms of the development and decline of independent Venice. Again without a guide it would be difficult to interpret the significance of the Doges and their administration led from this wonderful building.
This was a long day, but an excellent way to learn about Venice and its development plus skipping the long queues to get expert insight into two of its main historical buildings. In addition Sabina also gave information about the challenges facing Venice and the Venetians. It was also excellent value considering the ticket costs and Gondola trip. I would highly recommend the trip.
My husband and I loved this small group tour. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend this tour!
Great walking tour. Guide was excellent, would highly recommend for anyone wanting to see Venice and understand the culture. Gondola ride was so-so.
Gondola ride could have been longer - but overall WONDERFUL way to see the city.
On Oct. 8 it was a glorious day to enjoy our small group walking tour and visits to the Basilica and Doges palace! Sabrina was our professional guide who took time to explain all the wonderful sights throughout the small neighborhoods in the morning. Our afternoon group was treated to quick entries into St. Mark's Basilica and the Doges Palace. Her expert knowledge made our afternoon a historical delight!
This was my favorite tour from all our time in Italy Rome, Florence, Venice. The first part of the tour is a great introduction to Venice, walking the twisting streets and seeing the sights on foot, then ending with a 30 minute gondola ride! We were given ample time to get lunch and explore on our own before coming back for the afternoon portion of the tour. Small group tours are almost always the way to go and we rather lucked out on this one as we ended up with essentially a private tour of the Basilica and Doges Palace as the rest of our group departed after the gondola ride. Absolutely loved our guide Sabrina and our time in Venice, this tour was certainly a highlight and I would strongly recommend anyone visiting for the first time make this part of your Itinerary!
Super satisfied, it was so comprehensive, so educational, and our tour guide Susan was simply the best

Excellent tour with our guide Sarah, she very passionate in her descriptions of the history of Venice
Great tour and our tour guide went the extra mile to insure we got in our Gondola Ride despite the rain interrupting the scheduled time.
Great tour of Venice - perfect for a day! Our tour guide was knowledgable and friendly, and provided a lot of insight into the various attractions. Loved the gondola ride wish it was longer, though!.
Interesting well paced tour. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Definitely the way to go.
Absolutely fabulous. Busy day but if your pinched for time in Venice this is how to see it all. Great tour guide.
This tour was a great introduction to Venice. Moses was an excellent tour guide. You will not be disappointed. The gondola ride was on the short side but fun and it was nice to have it organized by someone else. The square was flooded when we took our tour and since the city did not put up the boardwalks we were forced to purchase some plastic boots in order to visit the Basilica. Hopefully that situation gets resolved.
This was one of the real highlights of our tour. Paola was terrific as a guide, and it was a treat to spend the day really learning a lot about the city and its history. The gondola ride was great, and our gondolier was very cheerful about answering all sorts of questions in English!. We happened to have only 8 in our group, so the tour was intimate, the lines were skipped, and we really learned a lot about this amazing city.
This is the perfect way to see Venice when you are very limited with the amount of time you have.
A fantastic introduction to Venice and at productive but still relaxing pace with time to ask questions, stop for pictures, absorb the beauty and character of the city. Gondola ride was lovely! Sure, throngs of tourist are lined up at the starting point, but you skip the line, climb aboard and within less than 5 minutes you are gliding along a series of quiet waterways, passing under bridges, looking at the architecture and occasionally passing a ristorante with garlic wafting from within... So glad to have taken the tour with our family of four! Nice to have the break at lunch to find a quiet restaurant down a side street and eat fresh fish, clams, and sample savory osso bucco. The break was also a great opportunity to digest all that we saw during the morning tour. Having a guide to the Basilica and Doges Palace is essential, otherwise you will miss out on so much to include some private access to galleries and such. Our guide Ele was well informed, professional, punctual, and a delight to spend the day with!
