We had a really enjoyable evening at Lorenzo's house! There was one other couple with us, which was really nice to get to meet some new people. Lorenzo was very prepared and was willing to change the menu on the fly one person was allergic to coffee, so instead of tiramisu, we made an almond crumble. He was good about letting everyone get a chance to get involved in every dish. He was also very willing to provide cooking tips, such as pasta-making tips. Lorenzo was a lot of fun and had music playing all evening. The food was delicious and if you want to get away from crowds and get a unique experience, we would highly recommend this!
Wonderful experience! Of all the things we did in Venice, this was our family's favorite! We went to chef Lorenzo's home, where he has set up the first floor as a kitchen studio, He talked with us about our food preferences and tailored the menu for us. We made homemade ravioli, spring vegetable risotto, and an almond crumble for dessert. All delicious and fun! Lorenzo was born in Venice, and we enjoyed talking with him about Venice past and present. At first we thought the meeting place might be hard to find, but it was walking distance from either the Casino or the train station vaporetto stops. Highly recommend!
This experience was amazing! I felt like we went to a family friend's house for lunch. Who also happens to be an amazing chef. Lorenzo's class was so much more than teaching my family how to cook a few Italian dishes; it was about bringing the family together laughing and playing in the kitchen.
This was with Chef Lorenzo who was a good, and patient teacher. We had 3 other people with us my friend and I. At Lorenzos house we prepared risotto with asparagus, handmade pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. We all helped in preparation under Lorenzos guidance. He made an almond crumble for dessert. The group sat down to eat with Prosecco.
One thing I would suggest is that the Chef print out the recipes. That would be great to take home.
Lorenzo was such a lovely man who made the whole experience so calm and enjoyable! I love cooking and learnt so much from Lorenzo who you can see is passionate about what he does. My partner doesn’t cook but had a great time watching and taking part, drinking prosecco and meeting a lovely family!
Lorenzo was a fantastic host and helped us to cook an authentic and tasty Venetian dinner. We particularly enjoyed making a riddicio risotto and our own tortellini. It was a wonderful evening talking about life in Venice and we would heartily recommend this for couples or small groups.
MUST DO when visiting Venice! Chef Lorenzo was very welcoming and he really immersed our group into the Italian culture. We had a small group of 4 people which was perfect! Lorenzo also planned a great meal which included homemade tortellini, a great appetizer and homemade tiramisu. Thanks Lorenzo!
The tour description means “home cooking” literally. This was a once in a life time experience to be welcomed into a chef’s home and cook together. Chef Lorenzo was an amazing teacher. The clasis is completely hands on. I am a good cook, but still learned a lot!! My teenager loved it too. YUM!!
Chef Lorenzo was awesome! This was a great experience and the food was delicious!
Lorenzo really welcomed us into his home and was really great in teaching us how to make ravioli, risotto and burano biscuits which we then thoroughly enjoyed eating! It was a terrific and special experience which was very much due to Lorenzo's passion for cooking, great conversation and such a lovely manner. Grazie mille, Lorenzo!
