What You Can Expect

Veneto Hill Towns Small Group Day Trip from Venice

Visit the hill town of Asolo!

Escape the crowds of Venice for a full day of sightseeing in the enchanting hill towns of Veneto. Meet your guide in central Venice in the morning, and hop aboard a comfortable minivan for the approximately 1-hour drive north. Stop in the village of Marostica for a stroll through the charming medieval streets and see the square where the town’s famous ‘living chess’ game is played.

Continue on to Asolo, where you can wander around lovely gardens and historic villas in this town known as the ‘pearl of Veneto.’ At nearby Bassano del Grappa, take a guided tour and then enjoy leisure time to shop for local artisan goods. Perhaps even pick up a bottle of the potent grappa liqueur for which the town is known.

In Maser, explore the historic grandeur of Villa Barbaro — a wonderfully preserved estate designed by renowned Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. Stroll through well-manicured gardens and admire frescoes by Veronese that adorn the grand hallways and public rooms of the villa.

When it’s time for lunch, savor delicious Veneto cuisine at a local restaurant (own expense). Opt to include regional wine pairings with your meal if you like. Finally, drive through rolling vineyards on the way to a prosecco winery, where you’ll raise a glass of the beloved sparkling wine and toast your day in the country.

An excellent trip with a personable, knowledgeable and friendly guide/driver. Good to escape the bustle of Venice and visit an authentic restaurant for lunch. Prosecco vineyard setting was simply stunning!

What a wonderful day, and a great break from fighting through the tourist masses in Venice! We visited Marostica, Bossino my favourite and had lunch in Asolo at own expense, then stopped at a villa in Maser with amazing frescoes. All three towns are absolutely charming, and so worth a visit. This tour is a great way to access these places, as it's not easy to get here without a car. Definitely recommended - one of my favourite days in Italy!

Absolutely AMAZING!!! We had a such a great day with Giavanni. He was informative and kept the group on schedule without being pushy. He also gave us options on how we spent our time. The day we went it was extremely hot, he would get the van cooled down for us before we got in. He had a ton of knowledge of the area and his love for Italy was strong. This was such welcomed break from the busy tourist towns. If you can't decide if it is worth it, please go and see for yourself. It was one of our best days of vacation.

This tour was amazing! Daniel was very knowledgeable and interesting. The van was a bit squishy for 8 people but we had a good group so it didn and #39;t cause any problems.

This is one of the most beautiful areas we've seen! Our guide, Giovanni, greeted us as we arrived at the appointed spot, shared his expert knowledge with humor and charm, understood our needs, and gave us ample time to explore and take pics. From the gorgeous scenery to the grappa and prosecco tastings to the quite delicious and lovely lunch, we made memories that will make us smile whenever we think of northern Italy. Thank you for a beautiful day! Barbara

Our guide, Giovanni from Avventure Bellissime made our day thoroughly enjoyable, and we highly recommend this tour! He was extremely informative and knowledgeable, as well as friendly and considerate - and fun. The hill towns are beautiful, and our day was capped off with a delightful Prosecco tasting. Although lunch wasn't included, we opted to share a meal with Giovanni in a restaurant he recommended - wonderful local food and service, and a relaxing way to learn even more about the culture and people. All in all, a wonderful, entertaining day - and well worth the time and money.

We loved our visits to the small towns and Villa Barbero, the grappa and prosecco tasting, and lunch in Asolo. Giovanni informed and entertained us with his knowledge and wit. It was a long day and well worth it.
