You’ll have free time to admire candy-colored pieces of finished glasswork and to explore Murano’s lovely streets and canals.

Another short boat ride will deliver you to the nearby island of Burano. Here, you’ll discover the traditional art of lacemaking that has been passed down through centuries. Watch craftswomen at work as they weave and stitch amazingly intricately textiles, and learn what makes Burano lace so exquisite that it once was coveted for royal wardrobes all across Europe!

We had a lovely tour with Ciara who was incredibly upbeat and informative. En route to an from the islands, Ciara told several stories about Venice and its surroundings which captivated the attention of everyone on board, even our kids! Many thanks!!

Lovely to see Burano with all it's brightly painted houses. The glass blowing demonstration on Murano was most interesting. Shopping time in both places is limited on this tour. If you have time for a more in depth visit take one of the regular vaporetto runs from Venice. Our guide was excellent and spoke excellent English. She added value to the tour with information about the Venice lagoon and other islands we passed during the boat trip.

In my opinion we needed more time in each island. There was not enough time to explore other shops or sit down and have a snack. There was only time to buy in the shop where the Murano demo took place. By the time i exit you had to get back on the boat to continue. In other words it was very rushed.

It felt like there was a hard sell with this tour. First at the Murano factory we went to - and there are many on the island. We only had time to see one. I enjoyed watching the glass blowers and they talked about the history of the art in Venice. Burano was charming and there was a bit more time to explore and we didn't feel trapped in the lace shop.

It's good to know about the work people do with the glass in Murano and the lace work in Burano but it was ok.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better October 2014

The tour guide was wonderful. The Murano portion was limited and very disappointing We were given limited time and stuck in just the Murano Glass factory gift shop not allowing us to explore the island or other shops. Although they stated there was no pressure to buy, the salement hounded us at every piece we lokked at. yhis made us uncomfortable and runed the experiance. BURANO WAS OK BUT I ONLY WENT BECAUSE IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE TRIP.
