What You Can Expect

Venice Super Saver: Skip-the-Line Doge's Palace and St Mark’s Basilica Tours plus Venice Walking Tour

Enjoy your walking tour around St Mark's Basilica!

Skip the Line: Doge's Palace Tour (2 hours):
After meeting your guide outside the Royal Gardens in central Venice, walk to the nearby Doge’s Palace at St Mark’s Square. Admire the magnificent Gothic exterior, and then skip straight to the front of the queue so you can head inside and start exploring. Follow your guide through the palace’s ornate public rooms adorned from floor to ceiling with gilded decor and murals, including paintings by Renaissance masters Tintoretto and Veronese.

As you explore, your guide will share details about the powerful doges who ruled the Venetian Republic for centuries. Hear about their fearsome governing tactics, and then step across the famous Bridge of Sighs into the connected prison network where enemies of the republic were locked up. After you’ve emerged back into the daylight of St Mark’s Square, enjoy a 3-hour break at your leisure before your next tour begins.

Skip the Line: Small-Group Venice Walking Tour with St Mark’s Basilica (2 hours):
Meet your tour back in St Mark’s Square and learn about the crown jewel of this piazza — the Italo-Byzantine St Mark’s Basilica. Head to the front of the line and step inside the awe-inspiring cathedral. Admire the soaring golden domes, marble mosaics and intricate murals of the lavish interior. Your tour includes access to the dazzling Pala d’Oro altar, which was created by generations of Venetian goldsmiths. You’ll have approximately 40 minutes inside the Basilica to explore.

Next, escape the crowds of St Mark’s Square and follow your guide through lesser-known backstreets. Learn about some of Venice’s hidden gems, such as the Gothic San Zaccaria Church, as your guide shares tales of the city’s colorful characters and history. Your tour concludes back at the original departure point in St Mark’s Square.

Both morning and afternoon tour guides where exceptionally knowledgeable. Spoke clearly in English and were great in answering questions. Group size was also nice.

The tour guides for the Doge Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, and Venice Walking tour were all great. Taking the walking tour of Venice was helpful to learn extra information about the city. Having a guide in the Doge Palace and St. Mark's is much better than going alone since the guides had tons of concise knowledge about the artwork and other nuances that you would miss on your own.

Both ends of the tour were very informative and entertaining. Andrea was very passionate about his city! Gave good tips to see the real Venice. Time in the Doge's Palace and St Mark's Basilica was just right. It's worth the price just to beat the lines, which were brutal when we went.

This was well worthwhile. Both guides were very well informed and knowledgable. The tours themselves were very well organised. Both of these tours are essential components of any trip to Venice.

Super experience made better by a guide that knows the history and details of the buildings.

Skip the line is a must -- the lines to both Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica were substantial.

Our morning tour guide Doge's Palace was knowledgeable and friendly. The afternoon tour guide St. Mark's Basilica was our favourite in our entire Italy vacation. She was the most experienced, emotional, open and honest tour guide we ever had. She did a fantastic job at bringing Venice to life through her Venetian rooted background combined with her charisma and charm. It was a rare experience that left us enchanted with Venice.

Excellent tour with different guides both of whom were informative , had a sense of humour and really shared their perspectives and understanding of the history and culture. It definitely a better option than the self directed audio. Easy to find the meeting places and sufficient time for lunch in between visits

The tour was well organized and the guides were wonderful.
I would highly recommend this because the crowds can be very intimidating especially
because Venice is lacking in signage. Reading a map is very frustrating.
The walking tour took in all aspects of this complicated city.

We can't wait to go back.
