Verona Food Walking Tour

Verona Food Walking tour

Begin your tour in Verona joining the guide and head toward the city center. Pop in a cafe to start with the Italian essential, an espresso, paired with a mouthwatering pastry. Head to a local and historical shop for a taste of fresh products such as Soppressa, a typical salami, paired with Monte Veronese cheese.

Then travel next to a local workshop for a behind-the-scenes look at how tortellini is made. See how the dough is mixed, rolled and stuffed, and treat your taste buds afterward to some fresh pasta samples.

Then peruse the shelves at a local wine shop as you learn about the region’s wine production. Swirl and sip one of the local varieties, such as Prosecco, Lugana, Valpolicella, and of course the great Amarone.

Please note: Places visited during your tour are subject to change, mostly due to the weekly closing of the shops. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and any dietary restrictions are catered to. Please note this in the reservation.

Fabulous tour, definitely worth doing.
Diana was a great guide, great food and wine to taste - the pasta was especially good. Certainly didn't need lunch after the tour!
Plenty of information about the food/wine and local area, but not too much so that you get overwhelmed by it.

Good food, good wine. Tour includes information about architecture, including fun facts such as the first advertising sign -- a whalebone hanging from an archway signifying a pharmacist had set up shop there. Food included coffee and ricini rice-based pastry and bombini custard-filled and apricot jam-filled pastries a soft salami called soppressa and Monte Veronese cheese with sliced bread three wines locally produced -- Soave Classico, Lugana, and Amarone della Valpolicella cin! cin! tortelloni large tortellini freshly made that day and gelato. Our tour guide was Kristina. She was very informative and led a nicely paced tour, not rushed and not too slow, with a good choice of local vendors.

This was a highlight of our stay in Verona. We found out so much about the city as well as the local customs surrounding food. Irena was lovely, so friendly and easy to talk to and she obviously had good relationships with all the vendors we visited. We went back to each venue during our stay, to experience the food on offer again and hopefully will do so again when we return to Verona. Hoping you had a brilliant day for your wedding, Irena.

We were a few minutes late had trouble finding the meeting place, but an employee very nicely helped us meet up with the group at the first stop. It was nice to learn about the food in Verona as well as learn more about its history, and it was fun to meet the other members of our small group. I also really enjoyed getting to ask questions of our guide to find out what it's like to live in such an interesting city. The different stops were fun, and the food selections were tasty.

Irene was the tour guide for my trip. She was lovely and explained how food related to the Veronese culture. We had coffee and cakes, salami, tortelini, wine and ice cream. All locally made produce and all delicious. The tour would be easily manageable for all ages, even on a hot day. Well done.
