Skip the Line: Palace of Versailles Tour with Night Fountain Show

See the beauty of the Palace of Versailles, one of France's most-visited tourist attractions, with skip-the-line access and a magical night fountain show.

Begin your half-day tour with a visit to the opulent palace with your knowledgeable guide. Learn how this was the setting for many important moments in French history when it was the center of power in the 17th and 18th centuries. At the same time, it was the private home of the royal family, as you'll see when you tour the King's and Queen's Apartments and the Royal Chapel. The much-photographed Hall of Mirrors was both a hallway connecting parts of the palace, and a meeting place for the family and the nobility who visited them.

At the conclusion of your palace tour, receive tickets for the night fountain show from your guide. Enjoy some time before the show begins to continue admiring the palace, or to visit the City of Versailles for some shopping or to get dinner (own expense) in one of the atmospheric restaurants.

At the appointed time, make your way back to the Gardens of Versailles to watch as the ornate fountains come to life with a light show timed to coincide with the musical program. The gardens and fountains alike are illuminated and set to glorious classical music, making the experience truly magical. Should you fancy a romantic garden picnic, pick up some wine and cheese in the City of Versailles before the show.

Upgrade your experience to a small-group tour, with groups limited to 10 people, for even more personalized attention from your guide.

Our guide, Pauline, was a real character and made the history of the Kings and the Palace very entertaining. We enjoyed our tour a lot and later the fountains and gardens were beautiful and really worth seeing.

While crowded, the tour was excellent. The guide made the tour interesting for both parents and children. Skipping the line was essential as the crowds were large. The evening light show was fantastic.

The Palace of Versailles tour was amazing and our guide was great, she made found space for our group in the very crowded rooms. Really enjoyed the Place tour, but was a bit disappointed with the Night Fountain Show as we didn't have a guide for this and had to make our own way around each fountain display, but it was a bit difficult to work out the progression of the display. Seemed to be so many people wandering around unsure of what was happening next.
