Great guided tour. Learnt so much about the history and was very interesting the whole way through! Highly recommend it!
I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and length of this tour. For the price, I expected a very short tour and just a skip the line entry. But our tour guide, a Louvre guard as well, was vastly knowledgeable about the Palace. We strolled past endless crowds of people and walked right inside. From there, our guide spent about 1.5 hours showing us all the Palace has to offer and sharing tons of valuable information. Even through the insane crowds of people inside, he made this a great experience. After, you are free to walk the gardens at no charge.
Our train was running late coming from the city - so we actually missed the 10:15 guided tour we were supposed to get - but the local staff were kind enough to put us on another tour time so we were still able to take advantage of the 'skip the line' and see everything ourselves. Plan ahead and come early - it's a marvelous place!
Nikolas, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the place, and gave us a great tour.
Versaille was breathtaking! Every nook and cranny in this building was totally glammed out. It's worth having a tour guide explain the history of each room to you - it makes the tour that much more interesting. What I was a little let down by is that when we visited Dec 2016 the area of Versaille that was for Marie Antoinette was all under renovation, so we could not view it. Because of this, it seems like we spoke a lot of about Louis XIV, Louis XV, but not so much about the last tenants Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette -- nor the French Revolution all that much. The ticket only covered the chateau - so we walked out to go see Antoinette's Hamlet, which this too was under renovation but we were still able to see most of the other buildings in Hamlet. It's totally understandable that the area needs to be under renovation to keep everything in tack - i guess I'll just have to visit again when it's completed - maybe this time in Spring/Summer to really see the gardens at their peak beauty.
It was a wonderful tour, I recommend doing the tour first then exploring around the Gardens. I wasn't able to make it over to Marie Antoinette's estate not included in tour in time before it closed, so I definitely plan on returning in the future.
This was a great way to see Versailles. Didn't have to wait much in line. OUr tour guide, Ana Sophie was great and very helpful. If you can, takle advantge of the rental golf carts that they have outside in the gardens. Its about 40euros for 1 hour. You can see the other gardens as well. Highly recommend.
Uitstekende gids.
What a great time we had at Versailles. We had a wonderful guide but I can't remember his name unfortunately. He was so informative and explained in great detail. We saw the main rooms and the Hall of Mirrors.
Great not to have to queue to enter Versailles.
Outside we walked right down to the fountain and the forest, I had been there in 1999 but didn't walk as far down then.
It was such a lovely afternoon and I would recommend this tour to all.
The best tour of Versailles I've had and this was my 5th visit! If you can get Paulette you'll be entertained and informed by one of the most professional and friendly tour guides in France. No trip to Paris is complete without this wonderful tour. Our guide narrated the story of Versailles like no one I'd ever seen!
Tour guide Paulina was especially great. She did an amazing job making it interesting for my two 11 year olds as well. If we had walked through that enormous and decorative palace without a guide we would have missed so much and not enjoyed it as well. Skipping the line was great too. However when he tour was finished around 3pm there was no longer a line. The commentary was worth it's weight in gold!
Pauline was super friendly and highly knowledgeable of the history! We are so happy that we decided to try this as we would most likely not appreciate the Palace of Versailles the way Pauline explained it to us.
Clothilde was a great guide, she was very knowledgable and kept us all interested throughout the whole tour, us adults to our 3 boys aged 11 - 14
Amazing !! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She told us a lot about the monarchy who lived in the palace that we wouldn and #39;t have otherwise known about if we and #39;d chosen to walk through on our own. It was great to skip the line and have a small group for this very interesting tour.
We had difficulty finding the office, simply because the train station we got off at was the wrong train station. Make sure you stay on until the very last stop on the line, which is Gare de Versailles Château Rive Gauche. DO NOT get off at Gare de Versailles-Chantiers!
After searching for 45 minutes, we found the office right where it should be. Unnecessary stress caused by not looking at the train map well enough.
Fortunately for us, we were able to rebook from the 10:15 am to the 1:15 pm tour. Apparently 5 other families/groups had the same problem as us that day, as the customer service said they had lots of late people who missed the morning tour.
Our guide was Pauline, and she was both funny and very well versed in giving this tour in English. She kept the group moving and had lots of fun stories and anecdotes to go along with her narration. We really enjoyed the tour that she gave. Thanks Pauline, you were extraordinary!
I highly recommend this skip the line tour.
Jeff from Hawaii along with Marcia and Kim from California.
Anne Sofia was our guide and she was the best! Very knowledgeable and animated.
Great tour and well worth the visit. We took the train to Versailles and it is quite easy. This is something worth seeing.

Versailles is a must-see. Guide was very knowledgeable and informative.
Our tour guide was excellent, moving us through the rooms in the best way to avoid the crowds. It was great to hear the history and meaning of the Palace and I would definitely recommend this tour to help you enjoy your visit to Versailles.
