It was a wonderful experience despite of the gloomy weather!
Great guide, great day with a little snow thrown in to make it extra special. Christmas markets were good.
Nice day trip excursion, me and my wife are Sounds of Music fans, that's what it's really all about, though there are very few spots where the film is heralded during the trip, just a lake view and the fountain where Maria does her thang, so you have to look at it from a touring perspective, i.e. nice quite faraway city to visit and enjoy nice sights, it's not as if Maria and the von Traps are everywhere you look, if you know what I mean :
We had an excellent one day trip. It was long but worth every moment. Other than a bit of fog near the top of a mountain, we had perfect weather. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us entertained while educating us. The trip itself was well timed with stops. My only suggestion would be that the guide take into consideration the age of his charges and perhaps not walk quite so quickly. Salzburg is a jewel with so many historic buildings. Highly recommend the tour.
We traveled to Salzburg from Vienna for a day. The 300-km drive was extremely comfortable and our guide Robert was very helpful and knowledgeable. On the way we stopped at the lake district which feels straight out of a poster picture. Salzburg, though small is a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the cobblestone streets. It was nice to see the birthplace of Mozart. Overall, a great trip that I would strongly recommend.
The weather was foul, but the tour guide was excellent, the content was good, and we were lucky it was a small group. However it absolutely poured down in the city centre and made things less than average. The tour though was good, the scenery alone worth the value, and would do this again !
We had booked for 7 people and we all had an amazing experience. Our tour guide Thomas was amazing. We learnt a lot and the free time was perfect. I would definitely love to go back to Salzburg and stay for a few days, it is truly amazing. We saw so much so it was a little rushed, but I am still grateful as we did see a lot. The scenery was spectacular from the bus.
My family loved this tour! The tour guide was funny, personable, and happy to answer any questions we threw at him from the silly to the serious. He gave us a great quick tour of the area and then gave us ample time to explore the city on our own. It was a really fun trip where we feel like we got a good taste of what Salzburg has to offer. Now we want to make a vacation solely focused on the city next time!
The tour guide was amazing! He was so personable, funny, and happy to answer any questions about the area whether silly or serious. He really tried to make sure we had enough time to explore Salzburg for ourselves afterwards which was great. I feel like I got to really enjoy the city and now my family and I are talking about making a trip specifically to Salzburg because there is so much to explore!
Great trip, Salzburg is amazing and not everything is about Mozart either. We had some free time in the Old City and I am glad I didn't take the cable car to the fortress. Some fellow travelers from our group had spent more then an hour waiting in the queue to get there and in less than 10min back. Time is better spent walking around charming street of town. And please-please-please, even if you are not a big fan of Christmas, visit their Christmas shops. They open all year around and they are magic.
What a great day! Our guide was excellent and accommodating. The small group size only 7 of us! made for a relaxed day in a beautiful Austrian town. Lots of commentary and time for questions. Even though it wasn't billed as a Sound of Music Tour, we saw all the locations and heard some of the film lore making it a terrific experience.
This was a truly excellent day out helped by the fact we had perfect weather, we received 5 star treatment from the moment the rep met us in the hotel lobby 7am to the moment we were dropped at our hotel doorstep in the evening 7pm. Our driver/guide Josef was brilliant, imparting lots of local history and knowledge that we would never have known about. There was a 20 min stop en route at a really nice road side cafe/restaurant which is self service/buffet style and allows you to stretch your legs, go to the toilet and have a sneaky cake! There were then 2 further stops at picturesque photo points before arriving in Salzburg where Josef led us through the town on a guided walk for about 1 hour and then we had 2.5 hours free time for lunch and walking around Salzburg. We then left about 4pm which got us back to our Vienna hotel around 7pm. We thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone.
Really enjoyed the relaxing and scenic coach trip to Salzburg. The guide was very knowledgable and helpful. Salzburg is a gorgeous city and very much doable in a day. We returned to Vienna at around 8 pm, allowing us enough time to go for dinner or do something else later in the evening. Overall great value for money.
Fantastic tour. So glad we took the time to take this trip. Recognized many of the sights from Sound of Music.
Really enjoyed this trip! Salzburg is beautiful. Long drive, but definitely worth it.
What an amazing day. The driver was excellent and very informative. Sulzburg and the surronding area is very beautiful.
Well worth booking and our tour guide was very informative and pleasant. Gave a lot if information we'd not have known had we just went on our own
It was a well paced trip and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Although my day tour was a big group 31 people, the tour guide ensured everyone was accounted for.
Had a great time in Salzburg, it's a beautiful city, a must do tour if you are in Austria.
Our tour guide Marcus was excellent.
It was a blast! Day trip to Salzburg is must...
First of all I was picked up from my hotel, at 7am. Minivan was clean, with a working air conditioning system. It was very important, because temperature that day was almost 100F 40C.
Our driver, who was also a guide by name Johann was telling us the history, facts about Austria, Vienna and many sites we were passing by.
We had 2 comfort stops breakfast, restrooms before coming to the Salzburg outskirts, where me made 3 more short stops in the small historical charming towns near by lakes. Those towns you don't want to leave! If it would be my will, I would stay there for an hours or, may be next time, go for a vacation...
Beautiful lakes, water, sceneries - breathtaking!
Arriving in Salzburg, Johann made everything very smooth, he asked us to wait in the park for him to find a parking it was a problem, he returned very quickly and guided us for an 1 hour tour over Salzburg and pointed out what we could see and do having 3 hours by our own.
Salzburg is spectacular! A lot of history there, thousands of tourists of course, shopping - whatever you like, very romantic place, by the way.
Small tip- if you are lost and need a bathroom, there is Starbucks right across the Mozart museum. Very modern Starbucks, good food and on the deepest downstairs level is the bathroom. But you need a code to get inside... So, buy something... ::
Our way back was the same smooth and nice...
Johann such an experience driver! No worries, despite the high speed ::
We returned back in time, I think it was around 7pm.
Thank you Johann!
